Carling Cup - Quarter Final

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Carling Cup - Quarter Final

Postby Bojinov's left foot » Wed Oct 28, 2009 11:09 pm

Who do you want?

It has to be Portsmouth at home for me.

Draw on SSN Saturday around noon. Should be some tasty matches, hopefully we'll see some of our rivals play each other - Cheslsea v United would be good.

I wouldn't mind getting Arsenal at home, we mashed up their first team and if they put their creche team out against us we'll wipe their arses.

I'd be happy with anyone except Chelsea or Spurs- Chelsea are in fantastic form and you just know Sturridge would come back to haunt us, Spurs because of our woeful cup record against them.

this.

How sad was it to 'watch' the game on teletext again? Just like being kid again.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Pompey at home to ensure a Semi-Final appearance but at the moment i genuinely do not fear anyone, on our day we are more than capable of beating them all.

dont care who we get tbh but would love scum in the final if they get there

Bloody glory hunting armchair supporters.

You're as bad as all those kids who were there last night, just cos they got in for a quid. I've been miserable for 30 odd years now, how dare they come along and think we might win something.

I'd have to go for a home draw for the next round, ideally Pompey, followed by Blackburn in the semis and then Villa at Wembley.

I'd be happy with anyone at home.
Villa, Pompy or Blackburn away.

We've gotta get a hard game at some point, so lets fucking have it.

I don't know why you all seem to want to avoid the top 4 sides, as the only ones who are fielding anything like a first team are Chelsea and even they are giving the likes of Sturridge and Deco a run, all be it with the likes of Drogba waiting on the bench.

I think Spuds and Villa will be a bigger threat, on the basis that they want to win this Cup as much as we do and are taking it just as seriously with team selection etc.

My choice would be to avoid Chelsea, then anyone else at home will be a decent draw with Pompey and B'Burn as the obvious favourites if we are lucky enough.

Any team at home would do really the top 4 right now are too concerned with the champions league to take the cup seriously so they aren't as big of a threat as they would be if it was a premier league match. So I am just hoping for a home match the opponent I couldn't care less about.

Home game. Head says Scum at home and take them to the cleaners, another 5 - 1 would be great. Heart says Portsmouth or Blackburn at home. Either of the latter and I would like to see Utd v's Arsenel and Villa v's Chelsea
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

Am I the only one who's thinking if we do draw United, there's no way Taggart will be playing such a weak team against us? Local derby (obviously not as important as their 'derby' against Liverpool) with both fans baying for blood - he wouldn't risk playing a team of nobodys against us. Just my opinion.
