Twitchy made them loads.
Strange how they are so skint.
Not as if they improved the ground by people accounts.

Dunno if I'm happy or sad for the cunts. On one hadn I don't like any club outside the top 4 (except maybe spurs) to fall apart like this. On the other hand they did think at one point they were gonna step on our toes and wouldn't stop banging on about it so they kinda deserve it....

Yeah - he must have made them over 30Million from what I've seen and heard - all dissapeared into the eather and this months owners seem as reluctent as last months to put thier hands in their pockets!

Would fuckin hate to be a pompy fan right now - I remember when Thaksin was struggling ;-)

They seemed to be spending a lot of money behind the scenes. We were no slouches in the wages department (and were making life hard for ourselves) but they still signed James, Cole and Distin with what must have been big increases. Cole threatened to retire if he wasn't allowed out of his deal such was the money they were throwing at him.

Some of the football clubs have really overstretched themselves. Some of the stories coming back about Hull aren't all that promising for a side who don't appear to have been spending wildly. A lot of clubs seem to be finding the going heavy. Salaries for mid-level players seem to be doing huge damage to club finances.

What is ridiculous about this is that seemingly intelligent and astute businessmen just chuck all logic to the wall when they get involved in football clubs. They have all the lessons of previous failures to learn from but still do the same.

It has been going on since before I started watching football....You would think the penny would drop sometime.

Not just football mate, it's been happening all over. Any clubs that were borrowing to fund squad improvements have struggled with the credit crunch. Banks were literally throwing money around.

Svensational wrote:Who do they owe money too?! Why the fuck do they let the transfers go ahead if they havnt got the money?!?

These are from transfers before the takeover obviously and the new owners are not honouring the original agreements. This is why paying for players over several months/years is a bad idea in the current climate as teams are getting taken over all the time. Of course this leads to the fact that the owners shouldn't have been able to take over if they didn't have the money to pay these fees. How the fuck have they been able to buy this club is my question the FA have Fucked up big time and the whole Pompey incident is making a HUGE mockery of them. This embargo is nothing more than damage control as its getting out of hand.
