Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Inspired from Doug's training thread.
Who will be our top scorer this season......and, most intriguingly.....how many do you think:
The top scorer will end up on?
and
How many will the three of them combined contribute?
Currently they are sitting on PL (total all comps)
Aguero - 10 (12)
Dzeko - 10 (13)
Balotelli - 6 (9)

I'd love it if Balo finished our top scorer and top scorer in the league. That would be a two fingers up to most of the media who just see him as a nutter and that's it. It would boost Dzeko's confidence no end if he were to finish top scorer though, and maybe push him on that bit further for next season. With Serg I think anything between 15-20 will be a good first season for him. I believe that he'll finish as our top scorer though.

I have a feeling it'll be Dzeko. He's probably the least composed of the three, in the sense that he can go from having an exquisite first touch to that of a rapist in the space of a few minutes. Aguero and Balotelli are more complete players, quicker and more skilful, but Dzeko looks like a natural goalscorer. I can see him notching up 30 goals if he gets a solid run in the team.
Aguero will either improve as he adapts or tire in his first season, which is understandable. I'd say he'll come up with 20-22 goals which would be a very good return. Balotelli is just impossible to second guess- so I won't!

Apart from his 20 minute cameo against Wigan I don't think Sergio has been anywhere near his best, yet he's still scored 10 in the league. He could well end up with 25+ and should definitely end up being our top scorer.

Think he was pretty impressive against Swansea.

He certainly was, but I would say overall he's not sparked as much as I expected so far. What a talent he is though.
EDIT What a muppet I am, the 20 minute cameo was Swansea, the Wigan game was the hat-trick wasn't it. Oh dear

20-25 in the league I can see, but I think it's coming from Dzeko.

Dzeko 20-25, Aguerro a similar number. Mario 15-20.

I think I'd go for Dzeko but I think that so far the rotation thing doesn't agree with him. If he can do that without his standards dropping as they have from time to time, I recon he will be top scorer, but all 3 are full of goals.
I agree that Aguero has much more to offer than what we have seen though. He's only finding his feet at the moment. The tap ins are there but there will be spectacular stuff in the future.

A bit like shooting fish in a barrel... err.. although in the dark.
In the league:
Dzeko 28
Aguero 31
Mario 18
at a wild guess
If i was betting though I'd bet on Dzeko as Aguero has to find his feet yet and it might be late in the season before his is firing.

That would mean those three players scoring one goal less then scum did all last season...
I have a hard time believing that we will keep on scoring at the same rate. We've played a third of the competition now and are already on 43 goals. That's blood crazy. If we were to keep it up, we would land just short of 130 goals in one season! Three season ago, Chelsea scored 103 and that was quite exceptional.
To put things even more into perspective, in 2007-2008 we ended up in 9th place having scored 45 - only two more goals than what we have now!
So, what are my predictions ...
Dzeko 22
Kun 17
Mario 12

Yeah I think I went a bit nuts with the question.. I mean we really haven't got a clue have we ? We don't know if the players were on form or just 'normal' a few weeks back, we don't know if they will settle down, fit in and up their game.. or just yo-yo or steadily tail off or steadily improve!
Anyway If i based that madness on anything it was that I have the unfounded sense that City's season will generally improve.. but slowly and in fits and starts.. so in effect we will see a series of bursts.. some of which we will go goal crazy again and they will all bag a bunch of goals in a few games.
I can't be bothered to think about it more than that as I haven't got a fuclin clue based on the season so far. I can't even guess who Bob is going to play in the next game never mind anything else.

His home debut against Swansea was outstanding. He scored twice and made another. I'll obviously be delighted to see Aguero improve but he's been excellent for me.
Aguero then Balotelli then Dzeko. Just a hunch.

I'm in complete agreement with that for precisely the same reason. He's got that Goat thing.

The reason is that Dzeko attacks the right areas, he has not only picked up tap ins, he has also profited from keeper spills and second attempts.
Aguero and Balo are just as likely to attack these positions as they are to drop off and make themselves an option for a pass, it doesn't, however, put them in a high percentage scoring area.

I'll go for Dzeko, despite me spending most matches moaning that we should take him off as he's hopeless.
As above, there's a touch of the Goat about him where he never looks totally in control of anything yet scores for fun. The knee in at the swamp being the classic example.
However, to get there he needs to put the same effort into every game and that's the thing that's missing still. If he sticks with a high workrate he could be top scorer for a few years.
