How I see it is no one is playing out of this world. All the top 6-8 teams are on no consitant run and all are dropping points, which is boding well for us as we seem in a run of poor form and can't buy a win. I'm confident that we are going to come out the other side of this starting on Wednesday.

I don't feel any prem team has set the world on fire yet but we can't continue to drop points against the so called lesser team as I fully expect your Man u, Chelsea, Pool to go on long unbeaten runs and to improve.

Absolute quality thread, just needs to be finished off by NQDP with the usual doom and gloom for the icing on top.

Thank god for Wonderwall and the other poster bringing a bit of sanity to the thread.

1 defeat all season, yes Hughes has spent money in the summer but we've only played 9 league matches this season, when will people learn that things take time, just because millions are spent it doesn't guarantee instant success.

I'm now going for a shit, I'll enjoy it a lot more than remomstrating with folk on here thats for sure!

The reason for the draw was plain and simple, bad defending. Other posters have already identified the main culprits in Richards and Lescott. Both of them will be lucky to carry on being first choice once others have returned to fitness and from suspension.

3 draws = 2 losses mate, in terms of points dropped. We have to change our mentality from only counting losses to counting points dropped if we are to become serious contenders.

Surely the mentality change should involve us trying to be more positive and supportive of the team and not dwell on the neagtives! In your eyes 3 draws = 2 losses, but surely you can see the positive in the fact that we haven't lost those games,

No-one else in the league has lost fewer games than we have.

Not "in my eyes." In reality... 3 draws is 6 points dropped, same as 2 losses. Liverpool only lost 2 games all last season yet still weren't champions. Blind support isn't necessary, we can afford an honest assessment. We had a super start but have slipped back performance wise. No harm us trying to analyse what is going not quite as right as well as it might be (words carefully chosen as things aren't going wrong).

Lets try this mentality..

Chelsea dropped 6 points
Rags dropped 8
Arsenal dropped 8
We dropped 9
Villa dropped 10
Tottenham dropped 11
Liverpool dropped 12

Not looking too bad so far mate..

Agree but we have dropped 9 in the last 5 games which is enough to cause a pause for thought. No point in masking the reality, in fact the last 2 matches have given us something of a reality check!

We were winning 2 nil and all was going well and the fans were happy with the game and Hughes. We concede 2 with the same players and now the fans are unhappy with Hughes?

I wanted Shaun and Stevie on and that's what I got. We didn't win the game and am gutted, however I don't blame Hughes for that, I put it down to the players on the pitch not able to stop the opposition from scoring. Simples!!!

It was a disappointing result but lets look at the bigger picture and realise how far we've come in a short space of time.

The defending is poor from crosses and has been the reason for us letting in the goals we have.

Going forward we have probably not hit top gear but our new signings will take time to settle down and really get to grips as a unit. They've done that all season, today was an off today - it's allowed to happen and it will happen now and again.

We are 6th in the league after 9 games and i definitely would have taken that.

Hughes is a good manager and has the potential to be a top quality manager and thankfully the owners are fully supportive of him.

So we have drawn the last 3 games

WIGAN AWAY - we were losing in this game and also went down to 10 men - last season we LOST
VILLA AWAY - we were losing in this game - last season we LOST
FULHAM HOME - Last season we LOST

Some would say we ARE making progress and that is an extra 3 points that we didnt have on last season.

Yeah but last season we finished a pathetic 10th in the league Bob, and that after spending millions. So for me not enough progress is being made. I see where you're coming from but with the ambition our owners have draws at home to a side like Fulham just won't do. I'm not worried just yet but today was without doubt the poorest performance of the season - if we repeat it next week at Birmingham we'll lose.

Again.. I will explain that I didn't make this thread just based on today's game but due to the fact that Hughes has been at the club long enough where he should really start convincing people that he is the man. Is anyone on here really well and truly 100% convinced in him?? I haven't been convinced since the day he took over and I just feel the time should have already arrived where we can stand up and have confidence in him.. Im just struggling to see if he has the tactical mind for the job. Like Iv said, he has never been able to make changes and really turn a game.

Again, Im not sayin I want him out ,as someone else stated, we have gone beyond that. Id just like to see us lookin like a good proper balanced side. Its all about gettin the lads organised and on the same page as one another.Im still seein this lack of flowing football and movement. We have shown bits, but not enough imo. And the 'it takes time' has been done till death and its about time we had our minds rest assured.

Its a bit starnge how since Hughes and his boys came in our defence has been off. Look how shite Richards and Dunne went?? Lescott is lookin bollox and Bridge has had a handfull of good games at best. Im startin to think that maybe its something behind the scenes?? Poor coaching?? And I bet Lescott wont get dropped now we have paid all that money for him.

Last season we lost to Stoke, I would hate to think we are gauging our progression by results against that load of shite.

And the reality is we will not win every game because we have spent so much money, no team does. If people are going to get girly every time we have a couple of games we don't win then maybe they can't take the pressure. All the top teams drop points, we are dropping less than the others. If you can't take the pressure at least panic in the privacy of your own home so we don't have to listen to anyones mindless whining (not directed at you Socrates, just the general thread)

If anyone expects a fantastic game 100% and only drop points because we were unlucky - it doesn't happen. I know I know, "Its Fulham" but somedays teams like fulham have a good day and draw or beat a top 4 team.

the Scum have lost to Burnley and drew with Sunderland, can you imagine the reponse on here if we lost to Burnley?
Liverpool have lost to villa spurs and Sunderland, Arsenal threw a 2 goal lead against West Ham. It happens. Get over it.

Sunday was a bad day at the office?

Last Sunday was a...bad day at the office?

Previous Monday was a....bad day at the office?

Bluez, top teams respond...we have three draws on the trot, 1 win in 5 games. Benitez is close to losing his job at they are sitting above us. We should have leathered Fulham to the tune of 6 and missed enough so we still thought we were wasteful, we need teams to say "oh shit, City lost to Burnley and we play them next". Before this weekend I thought Liverpool were there for the taking and how much I would have loved to been playing at Anfield this weekend, they responded and now I am sure they are the ones looking at City thinking we are ripe for picking. I am not really panicking or calling for heads, but you are trying to polish a turd that has been around since we lost to the filth.

I can hardly see the screen through all the feathers from the headless chickens flapping about on here. What a fuckin joke this place is when we have a bad day. We twatted Fulham and they were fuckin lucky to get away with a point. Don't blame Hughes, blame the players for taking the foot off the gas. Take a look at the results last year against the teams we played in the last 3 weeks. Stop panicking FFS.

Discussion on the problems we have had over the past few weeks where we have been dropping points...on an internet forum made for the discussion of the team we all supposedly support. Headless chickens? What would you rather discuss? Maybe your fucking clueless attitude towards this forum? We dropped points we shouldn't have and that is obviously going to be a topic of conversation. The post right about yours says "I am not panicking" to which your response is "Stop panicking FFS". Fucking clueless clucking chicken.

If you don't want to participate in the discussion, the door is that way...come back when you have something to say that fucking matters and I am sure no cunt around here will miss your brand of nothingness or even notice you are gone.

With the players we have got we should have thumped Fulham but after going 2 up we took the foot off the gas, poor attitude cost us the win, anymore like that and we can forget top 4.

Crossan I entirely agree with you. They did the hard bit against a well-organised team, were patient, found a way through and built a lead. Then thought 'job done'. Allied to some lousy defending, especially Bridge's tackle on Duff (not!), and some dubious finishing.

I hope it IS something they can genuinely learn from though. Next time at 2-0 up we should see something better.
