Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

It's also about whether the team will have the mentality, whether we'll still be able to grind out tough wins when the finishing line is insight. How many times have we seen Arsenal spectacularly fuck up great positions ? Last season being a prime example.
Exciting times definitely but a long, long way to go yet.
I've seen enough in twelve games to know the answer. it's not like we're a handful of games into the season.
You don't win titles in the first 12 games. It's when the going gets tough at the business end of the season when we'll really feel the pressure. We've also never had the experience of being in a title race in the PL. Not saying we can't do it but it's not going to be nearly as easy as some people think.
BRF - I (genuinely) do not mean to infer 'the ultimate slight' on your character but you ought to perhaps read your posts back from the viewpoint of other posters - do you know that I feel that I have read that exact same post almost word for word on sadcafe - from scum fans trying to reassure themselves - just the key words changed to give the context of a blue poster.
I am not trying to insult just suggest that if you are trying to be objective then try it also on your own posts

I'm not surprised that a few have accused you of being a closet red as you frequently sound like one. I think you believe you are trying to take off any sky blue specs and see things with an impartial eye. Well, I guess the one thing you can be sure of is that you certainly offer zero in the way of pro-City bias. You strike me as someone who has taken an interest in City over the years but by no means a fan in the true sense of the word. No blue I have ever met would consistently come out with the borderline anti-City views you do....especially not at this, our most brilliant form in my 30 plus years of following City.
But back to your original point....NO-ONE has said we are going to win the title or that we will walk it or that United are out of it. ALL of us who are City fans know how things have gone wrong in the past and how we have managed to screw things up previously. If you seriously think that any proper City fan is counting his chickens then that, for me, really does show you up as not having a clue about how blues think or what makes most of us tick.
We all know that United have been there and done it. We all know that they are capable of late strong form. But to say that their form has been rejuvenated since the 1-6 is utter nonsense. Just have a look at the table. Sure the test will really come post Christmas but if you cannot genuinely see the clear weaknesses in their team and squad this season and contrast that with our strength in depth then you need to pay more attention to the action on the pitch and less to the tabloid media whose "party line" you appear to buy hook line and sinker.

I'm absolutely a City fan, been a fan and season ticket holder since I was about six.
I'm not anti City at all, I just tend to offer a more impartial view than others do.
I don't see what I've done wrong on this thread, all I've said is United are still a strong, strong side and some City fans are getting ahead of themselves.I've also not said we shouldn't enjoy it or get excited but there's so long to go.

I've just watched the city highlights again, 6-1 it was..... Absolutely brilliant. Even listening to that git Hansen declare man city officially a "team". Love those after game stats.
I reckon Newcastle could turn united over this weekend. Now that would be wake up call.

Fact is the Scum have been behind after 12 games in 4 of the last 5 seasons.
They failed to catch Chelsea in 09/10, although they did make up 4 points on them
In the other years they were behind they caught up on average 8.3 points.
In 2 of the 5 years they bagged 39 points in the "middle 14" games.
The bastards won 4 titles.
One of the things I hate about them is they never give credit where it's due. It's a trait I hope Blues never adopt.
We shouldn't underestimate them and I can forgive anyone who has not written them off yet. Actually, if you have, then I hope you haven't jinxed it.
All that said, they have NEVER come across a team like this one.
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

BRF - I dont get you, I really dont. Im not going to call you a WUM or a rag in disguise, but in my humble you do like to take a stance that will annoy the fucl out of as many people as possible. I have met a few people like that in my life - people who will just take an antagonistic stance and argue it out against all reason - they were all odd people

I've been pondering over Fungguson's renaissance at Mordor. Let's just get some perspective on the five great clean sheet wake up call matches that show all is well near meeja city where the BBC types can sip their cappuccinos as they enjoy their half time canapés.
And here it is in all it's breathtaking hold the back page splendour: Aldershot, Everton, Otelul Galati, Sunderland and Swansea, and three of these were 1-0 victories.
Sir "I'm a working class laddie so I drink 500 pound bottles of wine before I start on the expensive stuff " is already trying to play mind games with Roberto with whatever crap he can dig out to support his already tired cause but I suspect the bunker beckons and before long he will be experimenting with cyanide on his favourite pet etc etc

Considering that they have lost 3 out of their 6 home premiership fixtures, the statement that winning at Goodison is not easy at all doesn't hold much water does it?

If you offer a more impartial view you are not as much a fan. Quite simple. Fans are not impartial. They are fanatical.
You crave attention that's as clear as day.
Nobody has said united are shit. Nobody has said we have already won the league so stop talking shit and let everyone enjoy this amazing journey.
