Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

We've lived off the 5-1 for so long because it was a beacon to us in a period of uncertainty, will the 6-1 ever eclipse it?
You are having a giraffe aren't ya?
We inflicted United’s biggest home defeat on them since 1955; equal biggest since 1927!
And if that wasn't enough, the whiskey soaked red faced (even redder than usual today) old fart has admitted on camera that today was his
worst moment as a manager.
Prepare for that record to be smashed as well.
Yes. I feel that there is a lot more to come from this City team.
It may go some way to smashing the myth that surrounds the club as well.

5-1 or 6-1? Can't choose. The 5-1 was so utterly beautiful at the time as it was YTS No-hopers v transfer record-breaking signings.
The 6-1. I expected us to win but to shove it up 'em in this fashion is very special indeed. This kind of thing will hopefully become the norm.

Although we never put 6 past them it did remind me of the days back in the late 60's when we would go to the swamp and genuinely believe we could win.

I wish I had seen those days, Doug (you lucky bugger!), but maybe we will have something better to look back on in ten years' time. My old man is of your generation and he says this team is getting closer and closer to Joe Mercer's side in both style and effect. Need the trophies to back it up though.

5:1 was really special for being so unexpected, but for all the years inbetween, all those titles, all those times we've capitulated against them, yesterday felt even better than the 5:1 and they couldn't even whine about referring decisions / injuries - I just hope the rest of the Premiership follow suit as we've shown them the way

6-1 at the swamp is incredible. A 5-1 home win doesn't compare, and it's only so romantically thought of because we've been so shite ever since.
I remember the 5-0 at OT and wanting to hang myself. If we lost 6-1 at home I think I'd just die of shame!!

We've had wins, good wins against the filth since the 5-1 in '89, mostly at home.
We haven't in my memory ever thrashed them at the swamp.
Till now.

I agree to win it there by such a margin just edges it for me,the 5-1 is still a special moment for those of a certain age though....OLDFIELD(2),BISHOP,MORLEY and HINCHCLIFFE still brings a tingle.

He was trying to signal that he thought it was an accidental tangling of legs.

How does it go from 8 to 10 on the basis of one penalty?

this, to beat them at there own ground by 6-1 will take some beating, unless we beat them at home 7-1

The thread should read 5-1 or 1-6 - theres a huge difference
In 89 we were having the shittiest start to the season and a beating looked on the cards, but typical city reigned in them days and we turned the form book upside down and took them apart.
But also in 1989, Liverpool were the big club, scum were pretty mediocre
In 2011 we have had the best start to a season ever and then dicked the scum - the best team in the UK blah blah blah
In 2011 we did it there - at the swamp
In 2011 we gave sir alex bacon face of turd land his worst game of football ever
On Sunday, the 23rd of October 2011, we didnt just beat a team - we humiliated a bunch of arrogant twats that have taken the piss out of us for over a decade
The war may not be over, but I have a feeling we just invented the spitfire

I went to the 5-1 and it was fantastic. We had no chance on paper. But 6-1 at their place is way better, not least because of the league table after the game and the message of awesome power it gives out.
After the ball was centred, after the whistle blew...
