Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

Scum weren't far away, but they weren't in that picture
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

They played at Bank Street in Clayton til they moved to the Swamp, so that's probably right.

Bradford Colliery

might fit the bill. It was around until 1968 it says here
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

don't think so. They were Newton Heath (near) then Clayton (nearer) but not Bradford. There was a gasworks and a coal mine
Where did you get this from?

I read that Newton Heat played on North Road, probably near/around Clayton park (but that's just a guess).

The Original pitch the rags played at was on Monsall Road in Newton Heath as Newton Heath Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Football Club.

So it's bollocks their pitch was there

After some reading, this seems to be true. Apparently only 200 yards from COMS.

The Bank Street United Stadium was where the Velodrome car park is now on the opposite side of that picture above

EDIT: Oops...I was looking at the A logo arrow and not the blue square...yes that's about right
