Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I love the FA Cup. I absolutely love it. It is the competition I feel most affinity with having been to the final in 81 as a teenager. Winning yesterday was absolutely brilliant, it was my number one goal for the season but I have a confession to make.
I wasn't as emotional yesterday as I was during the semi final. I don't think I came close to shedding a tear yesterday but during and after the semi I was crying like a baby. Yesterday was just excitement, thrilling jubilation and then satisfaction.
I think it comes down to expectations. I really really wanted us to win the semi but I think I just expected us to win yesterday. When we won yesterday there was a huge sense of fulfilment, of pride relief and excitement. The build up, the ceremony and all the post match stuff really sets the final apart but somehow it was not as overwhelming emotionally as the absolute joy that came with winning the semi.
Does anyone else feel the same?

Me. The semi was a derby, an unbelievably important moment for City. I was far more emotional when we won that. Yesterday was incredible too, but different. A massive sense of pride.
After the ball was centred, after the whistle blew...

That’s me and my mate just after the final whistle. Lots of tears throughout the day. I had a proper sob when the teams came out as I just couldn’t believe I was at Wembley in a major cup final with my City.
Sobbed again when we scored, I think the little girl in front thought I had mental health issues as she kept giving me funny looks. Nothing evokes such emotions in me quite like City do or drinking from 6am.......

For older farts like me, yesterday exorcised the ghost of 1981 and the pain I felt as a 10 year old that probably scarred me ever since.
Now, I have seen us win something, seen us triumph at Wembley1

I agree, yesterday was more a case of relief whereas the Semi final was much more exciting in th fact its a derby. It wasn't just a cup final which came with winning the Semi, it was beating United.
