3rd kit shirt number dilemma?

Postby AlpsMaster » Fri Oct 09, 2009 10:53 am

I've never really been one for getting names and numbers on the back of my replica shirts as there was always a good chance the club would sell our favourite players or they'd turn out to be another disappointment.

So not since my mum sewed a number 5 on the back of my first ever City kit back in the 70s have I bothered with numbers/names, until this season that is.

I just could not resist the temptation to wind the rags up with Tevez 32 on my new home top.

I liked it so much I ordered the black away kit with Ade on it - just before his antics against Arse.

Now I want to complete the set and order the new 3rd kit, but I can't decide who pick. There are so many star names to pick from.

Robinho? Bellamy? Barry?

Who would you go for to compliment Ade and Tev then?

Im torn between LAKE 4 ROSLER 28 or GOATER 10. Out of current players i would have to say Bellamy.

Why get a name, why not just a number?

I have number 7 on the back of my home kit with no name, looks well good! (IMO)

Get your mum to sew a number on it again.

LOL!!!!!

But then I'd have to get the number changed every year after my birthday wouldn't I?

Anyway, I am really enjoying the feeling of being excited like a kid as a City fan for the first time in over 30 years. Beats feeling like the bitter and cynical old man I was growing into!

Her sewing wasn't great back then and it has not gotten any better with age!!! Besides these new kits would fall apart if you started to stick needles through them!!!

I only started this thread for something to talk about at a time when there's nothing much going on with games or transfers so join in the fun and stop taking the piss! :-))

I think I'm leaning towards going for Bellers. I really like Robson but knowing my luck he'll leave in January if I pick him.

Bell was No.8
I always insisted on playing in a No.8 shirt for every team I ever played for on this basis. I would get proper, proper arsey if I couldn't have it.

Did the same myself :D

Went for 'Ireland 7' on the 3rd. I think he's deserving of it.
