Robson is one of those few players who can play crap for 89 minutes yet still score a wonder goal in the 90th and win a match for his team. People slaging him off saying he dosn't work hard of the ball are blind, because as last season went on he improved his work rate game by game of the ball, anyone who watched him closely will realise this. Yes he isn't in the Bellers league of work rate but not many players do reach that level in the Prem and Bellers is in the team atm on merit.

The one thing I will admit to with Robson, is that he could of been a hell of alot more effective in games away last season instead of going missing. I'm sure playing of the physical presence of Ade/RSC this season will improve his away performances as it will alow him much more time and space on the ball, where a player of his quality is deadly.

Last season Robson scored 15 goals from the left flank, playing of players such as Caicedo, Benjani and Jo, i'm sure he will get even better this season and find it even easier to score goals playing with players on the same wave length as him, meaning he can concentrate on tracking back abit more instead of having to worry about spear heading our attack much like last season (along with Superman).

All in all I think this means we will see an improved Robbie who I suspect will get alot more asists this season, due to the time and space he will be alowed as I said before. He will proberly end up chiping in with 10-15 goals again.

A true world class talent and i'm proud to say he plays for my Club.

I think that if Lesley stuck Robinho in the middle with those players around him he'd shine like the fuckin star that he is.
Imagine if you were a defender and saw that lineup. You'd be shitting yourself. The movement of those 4 front players would run defenders ragged whilst the workrate of Tevez and Bellamy added to DJ and Barry would give you another line of defence in front of the back 4. Totally unstoppable IMO.........(on paper)

The only downside of this side is that there are no academy products in it.

Or Ireland.

On Irelands form this season so far, who would you shift out of that line-up to make way for him?

Seems some people on here can't recognise genuine quality(Robson) and a flash in the pan (Craig).

I don't doubt that Robinho is genuine quality but Bellamy is far from a flash in the pan; given the opportunity, think he can get 20 goals for us this season.

Robinho to be fair. I voted him as my favourite player in the poll but I'm willing to admit he's been the least effective of our attacking players so far. I don't expect that to continue but I don't expect Hughes to pick him just because he's famous either. When he does get in the team, if he doesn't perform then he's straight back out on his arse as far as I'm concerned. If SWP or Ireland have a bad game creatively they'll still contribute by running back back 80 yards to make a tackle. If Robbie doesn't create, we're playing with 10 men. He needs to perform when he gets his chance, end of story.

When Robinho is playing well he's worth 2 normal players. Even when he's not tracking back he's still a threat on the counter.

I don't really see the point in picking the final team before our players return to fitness and establish their form. We have a few players fighting for key first team positions and a few more going to join the competition (Kompany, Ned, RSC, Johnson).

There's a bit of a leap from Hughes not being the kind of manager who likes to use all his subs to Robinho going to languish on the bench without getting a chance.

For me it depends on the opposition for the 1st game he is back - would it be too adventurous to play him in a CM role / hole with Bellemy left of him and Tevez right?

Obviously against some teams we would have to be more cautious - but I think that we have not seen the best of Rob - which is (apart from scoring) the way he sees a pass and the sublime way he weights a pass - he could feed Ade, Tevez and Bellemy for fun - with Stevie

I am with you here - I am keen to see Robbie in the role of provider - I just think that is where we will see the best of him - and he will also score for fun when there is space due the others terrorising the defences

Lets imagine Craig gets 20 goals this season and I hope he does, but if one considers that he has never done that before in his fairly long career surely it would lead to the conclusion that the season where he scored 20 goals was unusual(flash in the pan).If he gets 20 again next season then I would be more inclined to think he is the genuine article.

Agreed. I think we will see the best of Robson in a free role behind the mani striker. Last year we had no other player to go left-mid. Now if we can play Bellers or Petrov there, Robbie or Tevez can play behind Ade or RSC, especially in home games.

It's a bugger having so many front players to choose from!

Also we've got options now, away at UTD I would have played bellemy over robinho for example, home to the Arse I would have played robbie - swings in roundabouts
