The French international clashed with Pablo Zabaleta in the last minute of the goalless draw at the Emirates and both players were sent off.

Wenger has since reviewed video evidence after the game and revealed on the club's official website that he will not be taking the matter further.

Wenger told Arsenal TV Online: “I have seen it again and there is no way we can appeal.

“For me it is a red card and we have to accept it. Bacary lost his temper and had too strong a reaction.

"He acknowledges that he should have kept control. We will not appeal.”

Sagna will be suspended for the next three matches. In contrast, the FA revealed today that Manchester City have appealed against the red card for Zabaleta.

watched it in slow motion again last night and there's no exchange of words, at least not right before it kicks off. He just seems to go off because Mad Pablo had the audacity to push him off the pitch. The challenge was fair as well. Completely pointless reaction. What happened when they walked towards the dressing room was even more childish though. Even when he didn't have to, Pablo tried to make peace with him, only for him to childishly keep going at it. Players sometimes clash, that happens. But once the dust settles, you are supposed to shake hands unless there's some genuine venom between players.

Now this is the funny bit. I've seen Zabba's interviews and OFF the pitch he seems as genuine, mild mannered and sincere fellers you are ever going to meet. It's suprisingly often that you find out highly aggressive players are actually very nice and kind people off the pitch. SO I find it extremely hard to believe that there would've been exchange of words and that Pablo said something out of order to provoke it. I think even Wenger knows this.

i love how soft-spoken and truly "gentle" both Zabs and Vinnie seem in interviews. It really makes their demeanor on the pitch that much more fantastic, because it shows how much they lay it out there for the team.

Or it means that the appeal was well conducted and so obvious that they had no choice. There are limits on how far they can go.

In the case of Adebayor last year there was contact and they had to decide on intent. Here there was just Zabaleta trying to get out of the way of a headbutt.
