Harry's not stupid...if he didn't think he had a use for him he wouldn't sign him up.
Just makes it easier to hate Spurs more and more everyday. It's like they are "collecting" my hate. In spades.
cheers

From watching Spurs this season all their good play has come from sheer pace on the counter via Bale and Lennon with VdV making it all tick with this sublime passing and late movement into the box.
I'd love it for Beckham to come into the team and completely change the ethos of their game as if the ball goes through him as the main player he will slow the game down which will hinder Spurs and they'll drop points.
If they use him as a sub for when Lennon is having one of his regular Lemon days and bring him on with Crouch then it will be a potent weapon. I think Crouch has scored most of his England goals from Beckham crosses.

Hi Doomy; not so sure about 'Arry not being stupid. In his squad he already has a number of crocks that he's carrying, together with other players who are pushing 30. To add to these a washed out geriatric who, as a one trick pony, is now long past his sell-by date doesn't seem, to my eyes, to be a very sensible proposition and certainly not part of a carefully thought out strategy.
I much prefer Bobby Manc's approach of buying younger players in their early twenties, who are developing but are yet to peak (with us).
If this is the Twitcher approach, heaven help the England Team if he ever becomes Manager.

Imo this could be the 1st step towards Harry's campaign to become England manager, with Beckham as his assistant & has very little to do with Spurs.

I can't understand why Harold would want the England job?
How can he get bungs his way as national team manager? No transfer markets etc, he'll have to resort to match fixing!

If that is the case, i'd like to think it would happen in the summer at latest. Yids would never be the same again if/when he goes regardless of who they got in IMO, which can only be good for us.
Double bonus as an England fan too IMO, if anyone can lick the primadonas in to playing with passion and pride for the country it is Harry.
I think i must be the only person on this site who actually likes him? You have to be a blinkered fool not to admire what he has achieved at Spud's.
(perhaps we could put in a cheeky bid for Van-der-Vart in the summer too ;-)

Shitknapp getting far too much love on this thread. Lets have it right, he's a bent, corrupt, tabloid hack's mate always ready with a quote and has thrown a few sarcastic City observations in there and is always ready with an "Id like im but theyd want a fee" quote whenever theres a mic anywhere near. Remember the Bellamy and Palacious saga, Shitknapp revealing to the press that we were in Milan after Kaka as well?
Bottom line, he's a turd.
On the Beckham circus, Spurs dont need him and he will slow down their play if he gets on the field for any serious time. He's a lampost now, who cant run, a liability defensively and may find the premier league has moved on in the many years since he played in it. Lets hope so but his signing causes me not one iota of concern.

I think he's done a fantastic job at Spurs but I think it's more to do with tempo & attitude rather than any tactical genius & like Keegan's Newcastle, will only work for a limited period before running out of steam. Beckham signing is a prime example; it's all about the psychology & a boost, rather than the actual technical side. It's the old Keegan rollercoaster which has yet to reach the top, then when it starts to come down the other side, Harry will be off, probably to England; with Beckham.
Imo if you mixed Harry with Bob you'd have the perfect manager. Bob knows tactics but lacks attacking inspiration, Harry has all the attacking inspiration but lacks tactics.
Harry is though, a cunt.

In realistic terms i can only think of very few occasions he would even get on the pitch and most of them are just for show. The only footballing reason i can imagine is Spurs are desperate for an equaliser in the CL and have run out of steam and they throw Crouch and Beckham on.. who duly tries to plant it on Crouchies head for 5mins plus stoppage.
It is symbolic at best and a waste of energy for all concerned. Im ashamed i got sucked in to even bother to write this. Pah!

He's gonna be shite. He's well passed it. The MLS is such a terribly poor standard and soooooooooooo slooooooooooowwwww. He's not going to be able to match the pace of the modern Prem. Signed for the kids at Spurs and to sell shirts. Nothing more.
Somebody ate my grapes...
