For us oldies though it was great to hear the Arsenal fans chanting "Boring, boring City"
The irony ..............
our equivilent to the ironic "1-0 to the arsenal" chant.

The result is the only thing that matters. Did they score? no Did they win? No Then they weren't better than us, they might have "dominated" the game but couldn't score and that's what matters. Sure, we were lucky with the posts they hit, but how many times have the rags ridden their luck to win or draw games they should have lost?

I can put up with this occasioanlly if we need to do it.
Agree with that.
Mancini was spot on with his tactics tonight.

You don't even have to be an oldie to remember that FA cup final that Arsenal played against the rags, played for penalties and then won on them.
Great post bluej, irl be using that one tomorrow.

"It's like playing Barcelona, you have to defend well, i don't care if people call me boring. I prefer one point and being booed than zero points and being applauded off the pitch"
That mentality there is why we will win stuff and Arsenal will continue to win fuck all whilst moaning like bitches.

arsenal fans have short memories (or there they've got a lot of 'new' fans).....BORING BORING ARSENAL was a complement to their professionalism when it was sung.....
george graham and the arsenal fans of the late 80s/early 90s would have loved that result. football is a results business and we got one tonight, end of.

Anti football?.....No
Just a different way of playing.
They tried to score and we tried to stop them.
That makes our match a success and theirs a failure.

Isn't football about defending and attacking? Tonight we showed that we can defend. To me that's a job well done.
I'm sure Chelsea fans wished they'd got a boring 0-0 draw tonight.

Happy with a draw though wish we would've at least tried to attack.

Well, in the context of the season:
I have had United fans in the pub slating us for not trying to chase them down
I have had City fans stating that trying to chase United tonight and losing, could have potentially left us 4 points of 2nd place and an uphill task to finish 2nd.
Of course the rags don't get it, they seem to think that winning the league now is the b all and end all for us....wheras I am sure many will agree that whilst we have a chance and it would be nice, next year is the one where we go all out for the league, 2nd place and guaranteed champions league group stage football will do very nicely and comes in ahead of the clubs plans for this season.
And besides, United will have a bad run at some point, they surely cant stay this lucky with such a poor team all season. Even they can't pull that off, so being a couple of points behind - with United having 2 awaygames in hand hardly leaves me quaking in my boots that it will turn into an 8 point deficit as rags seem to believe

We set out not to loose with only 1 fit striker of any note. The performance was as good a defensive team performance you will ever see
Stoke lost and we didnt, the comparison is flawed.

Nail and Head. We're still in transition and a work in progess. They've got to win every game in a league they can't.

I think it was a superb defensive performance and thought we got it spot on. As many have already said, we set out not to get beat and we achieved that, with a clean sheet in the bag for bonus.
The club should kick up an almighty storm about the Zabaleta red, it was a complete joke of a decision, even my old man, who is a rag, said he thought referees are booking our lads too easily and often without giving them a first warning them too. Its plain for everybody to see, backed up by tonights 'performance' from the joke of a referee, and regrettably I don't think the situation is likely to change unless City take the initiative.

As kolo said, "strikers win you games, defenders win you leagues" . Take note of the form guide over the past 4 games and it tells you how negative we are. 10 points from 12, it's about the bigger picture, not having to win every game

Hands down, that will be the best point we will get all season..... simples!!!
No one will go to the arse when they are in the form they are in and get a result unless they have a poor game. The best defence in the league was torn to shreds tonight at times!!!
I think we went there with the intention of trying to win, but after the first few minutes of open football it was clear to see that it was only a matter of time before Arsenal scored, thats when we started to try and contain them, and we did that perfectly for the rest of the game.... superb tactics by bob, absolutely spot on. I'm ecstatic with a point, and we're still second in the league. Happy days, still in with a shot at the title.....? Why the fuck not!!!
