Crazy - I've just posted this without thinking and I'm stumped as to which I'd go for!

It's a dream of mine to see us in the draw for the champions league and I know the draw it would give us for top players... but I've NEVER seen us win anything!!

I'll wait to hear what the rest of you have to say and it may sway me....

Fair enough lads - don't be scared to VOTE though!!

It could be seen the other way... we need to qualify for this competition asap and if we do, we'll draw the final pieces of the jig saw and a cup next season will be a near certainty...

Hmmm...

A trophy please. Even if we do finish 4th there's no guarantee we'd progress far. Lets get a cup in the bag.

Top Four simply because it will put us on the map silverware is nice but what will it actually do for the team? Nothing... Top four will help us get them last couple of players we need to be the best in the world a cup will not do that.

I think its nuts saying cup as that's thinking short term but to each his own I guess. I mean Portsmouth won the FA cup a couple of years back and look where they are. Cups are nice but won't help us go where we want to go. They will cup in bucketloads in the future and we won't think twice about them but right now we need to get into the elite of European football a cup right now won't do anything for us.

I know what you're saying but winning a cup will change the mentality of the entire team. Most of the players on the team have never won anything...

That said, I've cast my vote and its top four no cup. I can wait another year for a trophy... fuck knows I'm used to it... Also, this 'spending within your revenue' bollox, means we could do with getting into the champs league asap...

I guess when you look at it that way you have a point but half of our players do half silverware or medals from previous teams and will a cup really give them that much confidence? Maybe Ireland would be helped by it but I think getting into Europe would be a bigger boost for the lads.

RIGHT NOW we need to shove the RAG's '33 years' banner down their throats and make them eat it. AND give me a trip to Wembley.

I'd rather top 3 and no cup, otherwise top 6 and a cup. The new CL draw method means there's plenty of banana skins in the final qualifying round for non-champions.

How many times have the cups been won by a top four club in the last few years? Before Portsmouth won the FA cup the top 4 had won it 12 years on the trot and 13 of the last 14. The league cup has been won by a top four team 6 of the last 9 years. Winning a cup makes a BIG statement and more importantly it really gives something to the fans and is part of the clubs history.

A few games against Galatasary or Lazio would be nice but there is nothing like a cup final at Wembley. 1981 is a too long distant memory!

Top 4 for the balance sheet - Top 1 or a cup for the club and the fans.

I want to see us win something.....anything will do.

I'd be quite content for another year without CL football if I could bask in the delicious glow of seeing another entry to the club's honours list in my lifetime (....something I honestly thought was unlikely to ever happen). I know we'll get into the top 4 in the next few seasons....that's a matter of when and not if in my book now.

But seeing Kolo with a pot above his head....dancing around as sky blue and white tinsel rains down....well, the thought of that gives me massive cheapies!!!!

Top 4 by a long long way. It puts us in the Chumps league & means 99% of the worlds best players would be interested in signing, so any weaknesses we find this season can be filled for next season & we can go all out to try win it. All a cup represents is a fun day out & a bit of a boost to some egos etc. I'm more concerned about becoming the best & that starts with a top 4 place.

City have only been in the European Cup for one round in our entire history. It would easily be our biggest acheivement since Mercer & Allison & would severely weaken one of the Sky 4. No comparison imo.

This is quite a difficult choice when you start to think about it. I voted for a trophy and instantly regretted my decision.

I think not getting a top four will encourage all the jealous cunts to try and have a go at us saying we are failures. Then again I want a trophy ASAP. The top four will come eventually.
