While Dublin will host the UEFA Europa League 2011 Final on 18 May 2011, UEFA have announced that football fans in the Republic of Ireland will be able to apply for exclusive tickets for the UEFA Europa League final from December 16 - January 13 from the FAI website (
http://www.fai.ie) and the UEFA website (
http://www.uefa.com)
Residents of the Republic of Ireland will be able to apply for two tickets per applicant and once the application period has expired on January 13, every valid application will enter the ballot, irrespective of the time of submission.
UEFA also announced ticket prices for the UEFA Europa League final as follows:
• Category 4 - €50
• Category 3 - €80
• Category 2 - €105
• Category 1 - €135
Gonna be applying for my tickets on the 16th then, Dublin Dublin we are coming!!!!

Ridiculous, the full allocation should be split in half between the 2 finalist clubs. Didnt the fans only get 42,000 out of 75,000 for the CL final last year.
Will be an awesome atmosphere full of gypsies and hospitality knobheads. Uefa suck dick.

Lol be careful!!!
I ended up in Istanbul cheering on werder against shaktar a couple of years ago! That'll teach me to get carried away and buy tickets after we win a penalty shoot out before the final!

Cheers Mark, I'd missed that little bit of news.
I wouldn't have had a snowballs chance in hell of tickets otherwise, but it'll probably be really tough to get tickets this way.
I'd imagine that these tickets are sponsor/corporate tickets that are unwanted and the FAI are looking to flog a few to reduce their exposure. I'd say it's only a few hundred tickets in total.

football really has turned to shit. in the carling and fa cup finals each set of fans get 30000 each behind a goal of a 90k stadium. i remember when liverpool played chelsea in charity shield a few years ago in cardiff and the fans were split 50/50 the atmosphere was phenomenal. football does not respect fans. if city got to any kind of final i couldn't not go, but the shine will be taken off it because there will be so many people in the stadium who just don't care.

I've already got my contact sorted over there, a lad who lives in Rush just outside Dublin, as i was told a long time ago that locals will be getting a shit load of tickets for a good rate. I'm virtually guarenteed a few tickets if we make the final but won't be out of pocket if we don't as he will just sell them on anyway.
