Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I remember making this thread about kompany when Hughes was manager.
viewtopic.php?f=119&t=28644&hilit=paulmclarenIt happened next game when he was always in midfield.
What a player he turned out to be.

Haha great find. Kompany has alwasy looked good at CB, I'm amazed how few agreed.
Tracking back is overrated.

Some you win, some you lose.
At first at CB he looked a little shaky with his passing, or maybe still getting used to the Prem.
But he has improved no end into probably THE best CB currently in the league, though dont expect to see it written in the press.
Other players dont improve, get worse and leave!

He had problems in the air when he 1st played at CB, same as Boateng would if he played there regularly now. Players need time to get used to the league & to each other. Players who've been here a year or more are doing that now & it could be next season before we see the best from the new signings.

Maybe we should have an "I told you so" sticky thread where people can go to gloat about things they got right.
Good call though

amazing that you'd do the legwork to take credit for this tho.
Consider this... i bigged up Ireland to really be a world-class midfield force the year before he really broke through. And now?
Vinnie is class, and i love him, but don't get arrogant about getting one opinion correct. You have a fucking legacy of really crap posting on this site which really counterbalances any "i told you so" bollox about Kompany. Think about it.
cheers
Fair dues to the knob though. Quite amusing really having a total knob pointing out what total knobs people made of themselves and getting called a knob for doing so by another knob.
Just though i'd be knob and point that out.
thanks

Just goes to show how little a lot of people on here know about football. People wanting to sign Upson and slagging off VK, Jesus if those guys were in charge we'd have Cattermole in midfield and Kenwyne Jones upfront!

Just goes to show you how a player can look pretty average one season and great the next.
Turn on the Liverpool match and have a look at Stephen Ireland.
It takes several consistant seasons to make a great player. Lets not all start sucking each other's cocks over Kompany just yet and laughing at those who pointed out he was in and around average... when he was, eh... in and around average.

No.
Be quiet and get back in your wardrobe.
I did predict it and I'll take full satisfaction from it.
I should be city's fucking manager.
And how dare you insult my overall posts, I'm dismayed.
Not.

Yep you are officially the number one knob on here now, taken off a nearly irreplaceable knob in DoomMerchant.
Me, I'm on the good side.
