We may be a rich club in financial backing but the club is a poorer one with the passing of Big Mal and Ken Barnes this year!

RIP Mal and thanks for every single memory you have us that we want to recreate now.

A sad day as a true City immortal has gone, reunited with Joe once again to coach God's team in heaven,he was the equal to Joe, one could not have brought the success to Manchester City without the other, pity he did not get to see what is surely the impending glory years part two that we will get to.RIP Big Mal.

Gutted, one of the most flamboyant and innotavive coaches ever ... nicely bonkers as well. One of the highlights of my life having a beer with him in the Wimbledon bar after a dour 1-0 defeat on a Monday night (along with Gray and Keys who I both ignored as I was only interested in listening to the great man) Apparently some of the Wimbledon stewards were going to kick me out just beforehand for wearing a city shirt in their bar, but relented after seeing me on hands and knees doing the Waynes World 'we are not worthy' salute in front of him. He even chuckled whist signing my Swales Out T-shirt.

Not ashamed to admit I'm fighting back a tear or two here, same as when Joe passed away. Boyhood heroes of mine and a great double act that oversaw the greatest period in this club's history. RIP.

Hear hear Blue2 - he meant so much to Blues and Im gutted. RIP Mal, time to rejoin Sir Joe in Blue Heaven.

Lifting an idea used by American sports teams a lot, I think the club should have wear his initials "MA" on the shirt sleeves for the rest of this season.

In the afterlife gladiators meet their maker.

R.I.P.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Just heard it as well.
Obviously from an era well before my time but still hit me (surprisingly) hard that someone so integral to MCFC's history has passed away.

Sad news.

There are football legends & then there is a special group of just a few people who stand out, not only because of their supreme talent but also because of their fantastic personalities; they're just a class above, have an aura about them & make the game special. Some people will never be in that select group no matter how many trophies they win. Big Mal is in that group.

RIP Big Mal.
