De Jong

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

De Jong

Postby Niall Quinns Discopants » Sun Sep 20, 2009 2:35 pm

Fucking cunt can fuck right off as far as I'm concerned.

They are right now showing slow motion the build up to first goal in slow motion. The way De Jong simply avoids doing his job is just amazing.

To think we have never-say-die player like Zabaleta on the bench makes me cry.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I wonder if anyone will agree with you this week. Last week there were about 3 out of the rest so it will be interesting.

he had a great 1st half, from the 2nd minute on. didn't know he was on the pitch 2nd. he wasn't alone in that either.

Well anyone who saw the fucking game and knows anything about football will agree with me no fucking doubt.

de jong is a disrupter. he disrupted nothing 2nd half. however, as with the arse last week, barry and de jong were huge 1st half. nigel needs to understand the game is 90 minutes though. seriously, what did he do 2nd half, did he even get a touch?

Anti, I accept that you know miles more than I do about football and we are all mega wound up after that cheating ref's display but that line " anyone who knows anything about football will agree with me " is a bit lame. The first goal was all about SWP losing Evra and letting him into the box free. 2 or 3 players didn't excel from there but maybe Shrek either did brilliantly or got lucky and they scored. Picking out your least favourite player because you can is a bit ott.
Who was at fault for their second and 3rd? It seems to me the third was almsot disbelief that they were still playing and they switched off collectively but..............just soooooooooo hard to bear.

Agreed he was immense in the first half but disappeared with the rest of midfield in the 2nd. Not sure if that was due to the scum changing their approach or we just kept giving them the ball back.

agreed. i don't know why he disappeared, but he did. FIrst half he was very good. Dunno why he drifted, but i was hoping for a sub for him as soon as Park came off for them. Petrov should have come on earlier i felt. Or maybe Zabs...something to mix it up because our lack of possession 2nd half was embarrassing.

De Jong was ok in the first half but shite in the second.

Hughes was shite for not doing anything for 25 minutes whilst we're under intense pressure.

The officials were shite as well.

The defending was shite, lapses of concentration which really spills onto the coaching/management.

spot on. it was simply a matter of time (sorry) before they scored the 3rd. 3-3 would have been a very lucky result, imho. but the 4th i can't accept as it was paid for. city were pretty abject most of the 2nd, bellamy standing out again. not sure who was worst, but lescott was appalling.

Im not so sure about this. To pick him out for the first goal is a bit unfair. I don't think Shaun, Micah or Toure do enough. After that goal though, I actually thought De Jong was brilliant. Made so many solid tackles to break up there play, and was really good in possession also. A big reason why we were so good in the first half after their goal. The fact united went wide and put so many balls into the box in the second half, shows De Jong was doing well stopping them coming through the middle.

agree on these. the defence looks horrible, though toure looks like a collossus. he needs colleagues. lescott, fuck me, awful.

no complaints with him in the five man midfield (apart from his missed tackle on Rooney for the first goal) - he was shite when we went to 4-4-2 (but most of the team were as well, not just him)

De Jong and Toure missed tackles on Rooney which would have prevented their first goal - but it was so early in the game.

De Jong was coming from behind, in the penalty area. He really has to be careful not to make any contact at all, or else it is a penalty.

i thought he was fucking quality in the 1st half. its the defence that need to take a long look at themselves. lescott and richards were abysmal.

For me the aftermath isn't about individual villains, aside from the referee.

A thrilling encounter has been utterly spoiled by an obscene amount of extra time and that for me dwarfs anything else to come out of the game.
