Sorry, when I saw it I could think of nothing else.
On topic, with the big spending surely over now (for this manager anyway), it will be interesting to see what we do in future. I suspect we may just pick up one or two young english players each year from now on, as clearly we can afford the premium to invest in hoovering up the best talent from other clubs at 18-21, that will really ruin English football

Also got Michael Johnson who we could have easily binned off to someone else to pay the medical bills but we've persevered and fingers crossed he’ll come good.

Come back in 12 months time, there will only be 3 names on that list still here.

So? Still better than the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool and possibly even the rags.
It will be on par with those clubs, a top club in the premier league will not have a large contingent of english players in the side in the future.

Are you bothered?
What's with the attitude? I'm awaiting a reply of "whatever" to this post.
In answer to your question, i am bothered as i like to see english players play for us but not at the expense of being shit. No top club will have a large contingent of english players in their side in the future because they then won't be a top side as the quality won't be there with the english players.

Fuckinel, sorry Dad.
I get your point, but at the moment our club has english players middle aged and young that I believe will be in the England team for years to come for at least the next Euros and the next WC.
Johnson, Milner and Hart definatley. The rest no chance. Those three players will be our english trio for years to come, the only way IMO we will have more is if we produce them.

Not Barry no?
At 29 he is one of the (if not the) slowest player i've ever seen. I don't think he will be here playing regulary past 31.

with so many of the England squad playing on the same team it can only be a good thing for England.
England's problem is that we play like strangers.

I text it in to talkshite yesterday after Milner signed. They read it out and then tried to take the piss and sounded stupid. "They don`t all start" without realizing all were used against spuds...Dicks.
