Looks good! Our best player.
Stevie looked good in the last game by the way, out of position on the right wing so far though.

Agree about Nimely but not about Ireland.
Nimely's showing the aplication Mancini would have been hoping for from many of the 'fringe' players but hasn't been seeing from most. He must be giving himself a shout of an occasional place in the squad.

He did work extremely hard , showed some good touches as well ( and some poor ones) but it was a bad miss and he did pick the wrong pass right at the end imo when he should have slid Bellers through rather than pass to Ade.

Application and quality Ted.
Unfortunately, Tutte and Kay were just not good enough, but did see some potential in Cunningham last night - looked far better than Bridge who was by far our worst last night.
Our best? AJ did more in 10 minutes than most did in 90 and I thought Jo took his goal well.

Nimely did impress me. Maybe he can make it with us?
Agree with Nick on Hart, although I was slated for it Friday. Not near Given yet.

I meant quality as part of the 'application' required. Nimely's progressed steadily each season rather than standing still like many of our young players & he was happy to do a job out wide, work hard & try to do the right things. He's quick, skillful, can beat a man & scores goals. That gives him a chance, even at City.
Agree about Cunningham. I've never rated him at all but he looked a better option than Bridge yesterday & showed perhaps why Mancini keeps involving him in games.

Only 1 reason CunningHAM is there, and some others - to advertise to buyers

I think it's to show young players they have a chance & to see if any can make a step up to the main squad before releasing them on loan or selling.

The reason the young players are there and playing is that we wouldn't have a team without them. There are so many missing and we can't just play the top players for 90 minutes in pre season as that's just not the way it works.Looks like they are " being given a chance" and they are but there isn't another option.

No worries Ted, I do know what you meant and I agree. I was trying to highlight the difference between NImely and Tutte who both applied themselves but where there was an obvious difference in the quality of player. Nimely could have a future with us while Tutte looks like an average Championship player. (Sorry if it came across as if I was having a go!)
In addition to Cunningham, who has real potential, I thought Boyata and Mee looked far more accomplished than Ned or Bridge.

I dont want to be rude JB, but that whole sentence makes me grateful Mancini is the one in charge!

Really? I thought they looked far better than those two last night. I thought Bridge was the worst player on the pitch and Ned was not the Ned I am used to seeing. I am not basing this assessment on past performances, only what I saw last night.
Would I pick Boyata and Mee ahead of Toure, Kompany or Lescott? No chance. But, again, based on last night's evidence I wouldn't want Bridge or Ned anywhere near the first eleven - they were god awful.

All but 3 of the Elite Squad went home last night. In the post match Mee said he was staying, and I have to guess Nimley and Boyata are the other ones. It could be Cunningham over Nimley if RM knows what he has in Nims and wants a longer look at Cunningham.
I would think some of the coaches are going home too, cause some of the WC players could start fitness training in carrington as well.

yeah it wasnt just his pace or quick feet for me, it was the fact he played the simple ball everytime. Im sick of seeing the long ball being played when we get it down and play we look so dangerous. I wish we would do that more often... I saw last night they wanted to play the killer ball themselves rather than work it. Ive always thought city played like england last season plenty of passing sideways and backwards but vert little movement. Thats why the long ball goes up and we end up losing the ball. More passing and moving if the city first team want to see how its done monday night at ardwick mancityfans.net show how its done :)

My money would be on those three too, based on last night's match.
