interested in a move.

Judging by Internet reports, De Rossi would be receptive to a move to RM, so it appears Gerrard could be as low as third on RM's list, thus leaving us in a prime position to make Liverpool an offer, if one hasn't already been made.

The good thing about him being named manager is he will clear out unwanted players and hopefully we can get a couple of good players out of it. Saying that though the last player we got from Mourinho wasn't very good free or not lol.

It's a scales of justice scenario really. I wouldn't mind seeing us making a bid for Wesley Sneijder (sp?). That Inter team have just won everything, there must surely be one or two looking for a fresh challenge, whilst being suitably compensated for any inconvenience of moving countries!!!

I'd love schneider. He has all the tools really.

The Aguero saga seems to be nearing a close, with the club (Atletico) having put an offer to his agents, IMG.

City keep being linked and they will sell him if someone meets the 60M euros release. One story says City will sell Adebayor to make room for him, which is clearly bollox as they are completely different players. Another says City & Scum have both 'made offers'.

I reckon he will shortly re-sign with Atletico and that will be that!

GAMBERINI RULES OUT CITY SWITCH

Alessandro Gamberini is an admirer of English football but insists he is happy at Fiorentina.

The talented centre-half is reported to be a summer transfer target for Manchester City, with Roberto Mancini keen to tighten up at the back.

The Blues boss has a vast knowledge of Italian football and is known to be an admirer of Gamberini.

However, the 28-year-old Italy international claims he is not looking to secure a move elsewhere.

He is flattered to be mentioned alongside City but is adamant that his future lies in Florence.

"I love English football," Gamberini told Radio Blu.

"The interest of Manchester City? I'm pleased to hear of Roberto Mancini's admiration, but I'm happy with Fiorentina.

"I have great motivation to play a great season next year after the many frustrations of last season."

ah well, we'll have to live with our established international centerbacks then. Can't win them all I suppose.

According to AS, Garry's flying out to speak to Valencia.
According to Spanish daily AS, Manchester City chief executive Gary Cook is flying to Valencia today to try to sign David Silva .

Valencia just sold star striker David Villa to Barcelona and have appeared reluctant to part with their other prized asset, left-sided forward Silva. Nonetheless, Cook is reportedly on his way to Valencia by private jet to try to lure the 24-year-old to Eastlands.

Manchester City will likely be looking to make some big signings this summer as a statement of intent for the coming season, despite the failure to secure Champions League football. Silva has been at Valencia for almost his entire career and has established himself as one of Spain's top players. Silva would add yet another option for Roberto Mancini, who already has England international Adam Johnson to fill the wide left role.

AS speculates that Cook's trip today will show that Manchester City are serious in their intention to sign Silva, but predict that Valencia president Manuel Llorente will only listen to an offer in excess of 30 million Euros.

In 2009/2010, Silva scored nine goals and provided ten assists in 38 appearances for cash strapped Valencia. With six goals in 33 internationals, Silva is expected to star for Spain during this summer's World Cup.

I thought that he was reported to be signing a new contract with them?

Don't get your hopes up too much mate, Llorente has already stated that he is going nowhere after reports of the Rags and Real going in for him. They got around £35 million for Villa which should stave off the banks for a while and the only way I could see us getting him is if we go in at about the same price, but is he worth that?

They still need more money so they can finish building their new stadium though. That's going to be awesome btw, if they ever finish it! Should've been finished about 2 years ago I think

After living through all the Villa/Silva/Zigic/Valencia debts sagas these last 2 years one thing that strikes me is the indecent haste by which the first 2 big summer transfers have been done by Valencia selling. By rights these went bust last year, and only a combination of the members stumping up yet more and the generosity of Bancaja (is it?) let them go another 12 months without really selling. As several Spanish banks are in the cart right now, it looks like Valencia have been told to sell, and to sell quick, and mostly likely sell as much as possible if they want to stay open. Hence this sudden link and hence how they haven't dragged Barca out all summer with Villa.

And also Beefy Llorente told Cadena Ser that

"Por 30 millones de euros no saldrá"

IE: He wont be leaving for 30 million euros, not he's not leaving. I reckon 30 M was Real's supposed bid to get him. Which is where City come in, it goes onto say and about Cook being in Valencia today. Although I was in Valencia airport on Monday and he's welcome to it!

Am I the only one who thinks Silva would be kicked senseless in England. Rarely have I seen softer player. Kind of reminds me of Luis Garcia (the one who played in Liverpool..... there are approximately 19 professional footballers called Luis Garcia). Extremely skillfull, loads of pace good shot but soft as newborn's arse.

I would love it if we got Silva. I think he would be a great marquee signing if we got him, but I'm not expecting it to happen.

Bags of skill, fast and a winning mentality.
