May mean absolutely fuck all, but the club came straight out with printing Rodri on shirts for free following the WC.

Doubt they do that if he's going. Just my take.

My answer to the point is we cash in now. Keeping him may well win us the league, but he goes on a free in the summer and we plan for life without him. No-one better in the world, but I think he won't have the same drive for us and we only get one shot.

It's a huge financial gamble, isn't it? We could get 50-60 million for him now, but if we keep him and he has little impact on whether we win anything, we've just lost 60 million!. I know what I'd do.

He's been immense for us, no question no-one can say different. It should now be a straight business decision IF he has indicated he doesn't want to sign an extension, we should be looking out for ourselves.

Give him a week to sign a new contract or sell. That he’s even considering, let alone courting Madrid, after the shenanigans at the Ballon D’Or a couple of years ago, tells you where he’s at.

A great player, no question, but we made this error with KDB. Knowing when to sell is as important as knowing when to buy

Some ITK reckons the contract has been on the table since before the world cup and Soriano has said he can takes his post world cup break to decide what he's doing and is comfortable either way. Either he signs it and stays or he doesn't and goes for free. Either way they are planning on him being a City player next season.

But most likely just twitter bollox.

If we could guarantee he gave his all I'd be happy with that. But I think he's a bit of a mard arse and doesn't have the same backbone and pride as Bernie so if he stays he'll probably always be injured or just a bit shit

Whether we keep or lose 60 odd million is immaterial, we don’t need the money lets be honest, what we do need is Rodri feeling like this is the place he wants to be for the next few seasons - we will not find better - if anything to drive the “115 charges” cunts even more mental

Reports that PSG joined the discussion.

Barcelona are also in the mix, but I can't imagine them having a cent to pay.

You really wouldn't know what to believe, but i do believe the contract has been on the table for him to sign since the spring, so he was always on his bike.

I think re the Rodri shirt printing, that's just an MCFC Store decision which the board would be oblivious to.

Maybe, but don't the players get a kick back off this. Poor from the club if they know he is going.

It looks like the gossip is getting louder and louder, obviously the club is aware of the situation and should be monitoring it. My only concern isn't that he's going but when he goes and will we have enough time to replace him.

As an aside if I played for a club and I was going to stay at that club I would say I was staying there, the bullshit about that affecting his bargaining for a better contract is ridiculous morals should always come before greed.

It's a shame if he goes as he seems to be getting back to top form exactly as Pep predicted would be the case.

It's pretty crass that he'd go to a club that had disrespected him in the way they did a couple of years back, but there's a 40% chance he's a Real supporter, and it's Real Madrid's business model to throw the transfer fee at the player instead to turn their heads. At 30 years old, if someone comes along and offers him a 50% pay increase, and 3-4 year deal - he'd be an idiot not to take it given his stock will never get higher than it is today. I suspect he (or his agent) will probably be agitating to go now, as a lot could go wrong between now and the end of the season

The good news being that pretty much none of the big signings they have made under this model in many years, have actually worked out.

If he goes, so be it

Yeah cant get over the fact hed go there when they mugged him off but whatever.

Get a big fee if he goes this year - Spain captain and world cup winner. That's a premium for Madrid and they can market the hell out of that.

Otherwise we dont need the money (apart from Madrid up rules) so keep

Big risk / IF is as above that hes a shit mad arse for a year

Whenever I watched Spain at the WC I had the feeling of him being ex-City, much like Alvarez. I never found myself hoping he did well in the way I did with Doku, Semenyo, even Elliot Anderson. I just think the writing was on the wall too long and he's alr left.

Nothing to do with Football but, My neighbour is a nurse who needed surgery on her wrist. Which meant 3 months off work. The clever cow decided to get it done in November meaning she had all Christmas and new year off work fully paid. Crafty cow wasn't daft. Neither is Rodri, just seems like he can't be arsed playing in England anymore after a good World Cup. Sell him once he's recovered, his time is up...

The fact he was in Bernardo's face celebrating tells me he's a turned into a bit of a cunt now. Balon d'Or probably gone to his head. Get him gone asap if he doesn't want to be here.
