***Everton v City Official Match Thread***

Postby nottsblue » Mon May 04, 2026 6:57 am

They are all now must win games. Six behind Arsenal again and the first of the two games in hand tonight. We’ve won our last 8 games away at Everton, all at Goodison and this is our first visit to their new stadium.

Assume there are no new injury concerns since the Southampton match, so hopefully we will revert back to the settled side we had prior.

Can see a tight game and I don’t think this is the game to try and improve the GD. A scruffy 1-0 will be perfect

I think however we will be well up for it and will come out of the blocks like a freight train

2-0 Haaland Cherki

As you say a scruffy 1-0 win will do. Win by a couple and I'll stick on the dancing shoes. They're doing their bit let's do ours. Make or break time.

Nice to know what we need to do. We all know it, lets crack on tonight. Going to be a tough game as they all are from here. We've had a decent break since last weekend so that's in our favour.

I think from here on in we've got to be on it for the 90 and no foot off the gas when the game is won. Every goal matters now, especially with Arsenal still having to play Burnley. We scored 11 in 4 games against Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea and that's the level we need now. I can forgive the Burnley game because it was on the back of the monstrous effort against Arsenal. Everton's home form isn't great (6 wins in 16) so it's got to start tonight. We've had 9 days off so no excuses. Come on Blues.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

The lads know what they have to do and they'll do it, it's how you win titles and we're good at that.

1-4 City.

The fact of the matter is that we are a better team than Everton and should beat them. They’ll be fired up though and hopefully we can get an early goal to settle the nerves, quickly followed by another and then another and I will be happy sipping my whisky & counting the goals.

Your City side to take on Everton!

XI | Donnarumma, Nunes, Khusanov, Guéhi, O’Reilly, Nico, Bernardo (C), Semenyo, Cherki, Doku, Haaland

SUBS | Trafford, Reijnders, Stones, Ake, Marmoush, Kovacic, Ait-Nouri, Savinho, Foden

It's the now accepted team (but which struggled at Burnley)

I see Foden still makes it onto the bench and no doubt will somehow get onto the pitch

Why oh why?

There were noises last week of him heading to Atletico in the summer, although that was f365 pedalling the story....

Back four are outstanding so not too many concerns there for me. Hopefully we have our finishing boots on. Midfield will be fine.
