Sorry, but this has to come down to the manager’s instructions. It can’t just be that the team suddenly develops an inferiority complex every single fucking time we play the second half of matches.
Anyone got any other plausible theory that isn’t ‘it’s the manager’s fault’? I’m all ears !!
Newcastle had an xg of 0.0 from open play in the second half. That tells you that defensively, city got it absolutely spot on.
The fact that we didn't convert our excellent chances, is on us, we should have been more clinical. The fact that you are blaming the manager for that second half performance makes you look stupid. His substitutions were also spot on too
Lies. damn lies and statistics, A very true saying by Mark Twain .
I'd leave the goal expectancy stats in the fucking bin and just watch the game wonderwall . Defensively in that game we were far from spot on. Khusanov coming on for Dias was a good moved forced on Pep by Dias getting booked . Nunes and Nouri , are still guilty of losing possession trying to dribble the ball out of defence.
Our second half fall offs have become our trademark, our DNA since last seasons fuck ups. That's on Pep
At least some of us see the same game.
A lot of the board members see the same game Carl. Some can't watch the game though and still comment during the game.
I , like PB Lee saw the second half as great containment.
With regards to Khus, he is playing very well. I think Pep started Dias to see if he could play well. He failed, his passing was overly complicated and went astray at least three times when not under pressure. Indeed one of his passes lead to a very dangerous counter attack, fortunately Gordon fluffed it. He overhit passes to the wing players giving throws away to the geordies. He got himself booked by being too slow to make a challenge.
The yellow card was a perfect foil for Pep to replace him with Khus, who is growing stronger week by week.
Khus made a very telling tackle mid way through the half
On their left, after Nunes was forced over to the left back position.
Khus had to cover a lot of ground to make a perfect tackle. He was very fast and made the perfect tackle ,winning the ball. However it went out for a throw and city could not take advantage.
He should start against Leeds, definitely.
Ait Nouri , the third game in a row where he has been selfish instead of playing Haarland in. He needs to get it into his head, it is not about personal glory, but about the team.
The same for Marmoush.and Semenyo. Both off form last night. Particularly in the second half where City had enough chances to easily kill the game off but didn't thereby allowing the geordies a chance to search for an equaliser.
