Very nice to see us take the shackles off slightly, has two up top and play the ball over the top and in behind. Haaland looked much better playing this way.

Second half we had a two goal lead and took all the sting out the game and even then should have had at least two more.

Top 8 was all I cared about and it’s done. Not pretty at times but box ticked.

Ait Nouri decent and Madmoush not great but freed up Haaland more. Cherki class. Onwards and upwards.
Tracking back is overrated.

Club Brugge or Glatasaray v Juventus or Atletico Madrid
Will play Sporting or Manchester City in last 16:

Not sure that’s accurate

Can anyone confirm this? I thought it was a draw made after the playoffs but I'd be happy to avoid Real or PSG.

Agree with most. Our movement was good first half and created more with 2 strikers working in tandem. Marmoush did well in this. Should have had a couple more goals .

Cherki got his goal but i thought he was pretty average tonight, often taking the wrong options.
Plenty of players fluffed their lines in front of goal in second half,

Thought the opposition did a lot better when they came out and went full court press on us.

Khusanov and Donna Ruma saved our blushes in second half.

Lets hope our signings continue to perform, Two up front a definite good idea to continue with,

Sorry, an on going joke if you are challenging my post....

There was a poster called City64 who was very obnoxious that who referred to anyone that wasn't a ST holder as being arm chair or tv fan........

He became so disliked for many reasons that he became known as cunt64.......

Please don't tell me you travel to games on Northern Rail, drive an Audi or get wankered before every home game.

Didn't he have to become an Armchair Fan because his phone kept running out of battery on the way to the game?

Just imagine rebuilding a team, getting a lot of new players and coaches in. Settling them in, getting them used to each other, getting them used to new tactics new ways of playing etc. All the time that takes. And at the same time still being well positioned in four competitions.
Looks like that's not enough for some people.

Joke like, should have put 4 or 5 past them then I wouldn’t have been shitting it watching last 5 minutes of the real benfica game. A goal for Newcastle or PSG we’d have been 9th bad managerial strategy imo

It isn't when he tries to play them in positions they haven't played before. He's had plenty of time and he's had plenty of cash thrown his way.

Some fans are turning into Arsene Wenger like apologists , 'we made the top four' , 'we are still in 4 competitions'

Our football is poor at times. Last night we should have scored 4 or 5. We have decent players, some are played out of position but we shouldn;t be struggling like we have been ,

When was the last time we finished off a big game in style like Benfica did last night?

There is something fundamentally wrong at City. Time & time again we perform well in parts, then second half it all goes pear shaped. Whether it’s Pep telling players to play safe with zero risk or instructing them to save energy. Either ways it’s not working, indeed if it wasn’t for Dunno & Khush last night we would be looking at play offs which is ridiculous given the start we had in CL. We are still in these competitions despite Pep’s actions not because of them.

^^^^^^^

It didn't go pear shaped at all in the second half. Gala, to be expected had a go. However, there were ample chances to score. Several close chances not taken, could easily have been four or five nil.

The problem is not last night's game, it is the two unnecessary losses and that wierd penalty equaliser in previous games.

Last night it should have been simply a stroll.
