Trying not to be too knee jerk. I normally avoid the match thread for that reason and post after the game ends only.

Having said that, I honestly think pound for pound this is one of our most embarrassing defeats in modern years. We’ve had losses that hurt more like cup finals and derbies. Losses that did more damage, but look at who we had in our side and tell me any of them you’d have traded with any of their players before kickoff?

It’s atrocious and I’ve been Pep’s biggest supporter since day 1. This simply isn’t good enough.

But it hasn’t been fucking good enough for a very long time now has it ?The club has given Pep everything he’s asked for and yet here we are - one of the worst fucking runs ever - so what’s the actual answer because fuckall is getting better - its actually getting worse.

Post match inter with Pep was embarassing . He really is clueless as to what and why things sre like they are.

Haaland , mate saying sorry doesn't make up for you continued lack of effort. Wearing the captains armband was a joke.

Makes me think it has been an intentional shift by Pep because he thinks we can control the possession better with Rodri back and Rodri would not be able to keep up right now with more direct play. If so it's a massive blunder
I think Rodri is done at the top level after the ACL injury.

We can all see he has lost 2 yards of pace and will never recover it at his age 30.

Likely will go to Madrid on a free the end of the Season anyway regardless.

That Red last night was petulant and inexcusable from a senior player, He didn't want to be on that Pitch, his Knee was likely killing him impacting Astro-Turf. Everyone called the stupidity of playing him on an artificial Pitch to begin with. Genius Pep doing genius shit. Wanting him playing in the middle to defend the high line. It really is crazy what is happening at the Club.

There is so much wrong right now. In my opinion only a completer change of manager and coaching staff will rectify it.

Our side permanently look fucked. Either under trained, or over trained.

We look clueless at set pieces and defensively. You see all the players Ball watching like under 10s at the back.

We have a Manager who comes out with more shit than Captain Obvious. He sees the problems, he watches them and goes in to press conferences alluding to them. Yet does nothing.

I think he wants out and is working his ticket. Either that or he has lost the plot mentally and we need an intervention.

Everything is wrong.

The players are not putting a shift in anymore either.

Like al these signings have fuck all to do with him, that he is being forced to accept them.

This is the Manager who signed Nunez from Wolves, and said the Lad was too fucking thick to play in the middle.

Backbone of Pep success came from a Squad made up by Tixi and other Managers signings FACT.

As the Squad aged and got Older and Pep HIMSELF replaced others signings with his own we got worse FACT

Our decline directly correlates with him buying his own players FACT.

The new Guy will be left an expensive squad of over priced mediocrity he will have too move many on at great loss.

This isn't a rebuild. It is simply making sure there will be another 2,3 years of mediocrity after Pep. Leaving the next ,manager a huge rebuild moving on average players like Reindeer/Alt Nouri/Nunez/Marmoush/Lewis etc

He should have gone last Season, it was obvious Pep Ball was done then.

Now we will pay a price.

Please don't write FACT.

Put some context into your statements.

All managers inherit players.
IT IS FACT DEAL WITH IT.

No need for any context especially pointless for a sycophant like you.

Most his success came on the back of some of the best players to ever wear a City shirt. Signed before he arrived

Most his own replacements for quality players are absolute Dog shit. AGAIN FACT.

How can you not see all these latest replacements these last 2,3, transfer windows are his alone ?

The Brains had gone.

As i said earlier he signed Nunez from Wolves as a Midfielder and said the Lad was too thick to play in the Middle, I mean wtf ?

Our decline came with the aging squad and the replacements. Fans like you make out he had zero input and absolve him of all blame. instead blaming everyone else for our mind blowing regression in every area.

It is life on Easy Street at City now, we are no longer a serious Club.

The more control of the Club he got the worse we became.

It wont change until we thank him for the memories and fuck him off back to his wife in Catalonia.

Rodri, Ederson, Sane, Walker, Cancelo, Gundogan, Bernardo, Mahrez...I could make an argument for Alvarez as well, but unsure as to who he 'replaced'

Not to mention Haaland who has some insane numbers for a player I don't even rate.

Ok, look at that team. It's not half bad is it?

The fact that Pep, for some obscure idiotic reason decided to put Ait-Nouri at RB is stupid, the fact he didn't change it when it was obviously not working is on him to defend.

He had a very good option of moving Rico to RB, Nico to CM and Ait-Nouri to LB without affecting the team at all, and then giving us the right balance.

I don't think he is perfect. I think he should be given time to rebuild and prove once again why he is the best in the world at what he does. True fans of City owe him that, after he has given us what we would never have even dreamt possible. He has earnt that respect, if you think he hasn't, then god help us.

If you look back on my posts, despite Carl's drivel, I have said Pep should be called out for shit decisions and he is not beyond reproach. I am just not one for the kneejerk reactions, I hate the flip flopping mind changing brigade, cheering one minute and have the gallows out the next.

The players need to be held accountable as well as the manager. Once they cross that white line, it's up to them to give everything for the shirt. That didn't happen and questions need to be pointed to them too.

I said Bodo were not as bad as people thought in this thread earlier. Their results have not been that bad in the CL. They certainly proved their position was a false one tonight. However, because we paid more for our players, we should win apparently.

Kneejerk reaction? He's been shocking for over 18 months playing same boring flat football. What exactly is he rebuilding? How long does need? His contract will expire soon and can't see him renewing. Get a new manager and start rebuilding now. We dont owe him anything, he's been giving all the tools and rewarded handsomely. Thanks for all the success and memories, its been great but its time to move on, afterall this is business, no room for sentiments

Wonderwall, you're right, on paper our starting 11 looked decent but any other manager would have started with Alt Nouri in his natural position at LB. Lewis is not great at RB but he's been playing him there before alternating with Nunes. This would also allow O Rellly to play further forward on left midfield, a position he's done well at. Its as if Pep just cant help himself from fucking about with players out of position. After the first goal he should have changed things. Although Alleyne made errors, we were being overrun . We didn't have to win last night, but we didn't have to lose so spectacularly. Pep still has credit in the bank with many fans, rightly so after all he has achieved but i also think he had backroom staff telling him some of his ideas were mad. I said before kick off i was more curious how he would approach the game, by the end of it i was hoping our drubbing would have been greater. Our set up was wrong, our football was turgid, some star players dier. Blues that travelled should be compensated. My mindset is one that i can switch my time to other interests that i love. I have little time for our manager.. i have a mate who is a baggies fan, i think we both feel the same but they haven't spent millions to be shit, so he expects it

Discussed this weeks fiasco in Norway with 3 City supporters i play golf with. We are all over 65 so have been round the block a few times. None saw Pep continuing next season, non were bothered if he went early. The Alt Nouri swap was criticised by . Half of us think his marriage turmoil has fucked his thinking.

there's truth in this but I would add that in the CL final against Chelsea he displayed his fucked up thinking in that game by not playing Rodri or Fern, leaving our midfield wide open for a piss poor Chelsea team to walk through us and as far as I'm aware his marriage was stable then. I'm all for experimentation and trying things out, how else is he ever going to learn. One thing is for certain though, a CL final or any cup final for that matter is not the time to be doing it

Indeed. I have to say that I don't think the league cup semi is won yet, despite a great second half performance against the Toon, there is jeopardy in that game for sure.
