Rodri's injury will define our season from now on.
Really hope i am wrong all i see is a Paul Lake situation for him. He is trying to play through the niggling Knee pain and injuries are coming from it. Players rarely if ever fully recover from that injury. Lakey ended up retiring very early great player, Gazza was never the same player after either. Hope i am wrong because he is a great Guy and a great player. City legend.

Unfortunately i see it the same way and its harder to take because he is such a good man off the pitch ss well. You could see the team deflate when he went off. Much the same with De Bruyne or Kompany or Aguero. The squad needs to develop the mentality that the squsd is more than good enough. Accept injuries, replscents have to fill in and toughen up quickly.
Favourite series was Band of Brothers. That is was we need to be. Including myself i guess. Congrats on your 250th win Pep. Onwards.

First half played well, second half fell off a cliff, like in Monaco.
I thought our 2nd half was nothing short of shocking. Really lucky to get the 3 points.
We're a way off being a title winning team.

Well if Rodri wad going to get injured, I suppose we should be grateful that his injury is thisnside of the international break.
Looks like it's not serious. I hope thy government him the time he needs.
Pep: "I remember the press conference [asking] why I substitute Rodri in Monaco. 'Why do this, why do that?' I would love to have Rodri every three days but after one year it happens all the time, it is so demanding. That is why we tried to be gentle, play 60-65 minutes but it cannot happen more."
"It is muscular so two weeks or three weeks. Of course I don't want to lose him even a little bit but it is a pity because he is such an important player. We tried to take care of him but it is what it is."

Away win in the PL with a clean sheet and our goalie was rarely seriously threatened

Yes, it was a dull watch especially in the second half. But Brentford are fairly decent at home so this is a very good three points.

I think this season if we are to properly challenge for the title and even go on to with it, there will be a lot more games like this

The only time he looked really good was when he linked up with Rico.

But at this point, he is prime Sterling compared to Savinho.

Bobb with a brilliant run set up Foden to score, what more can he do, I thought he was terrific and the only player willing to take defenders on. Hey ho what do I know.

Couldn't agree more. Seems Bobb has taken over from Doku as whipping boy, exactly the same comments.

What's annoying is that if it wasn't for the late, late goal at Arse, we'd be on 15 along with Scouse 1 and the gooners.

yep, mentioned it on another thread. Poor against spuds, and brighton, but great against the arse , but for a couple of mistakes, we would be top tonight.

Despite all the doom and gloom about not starting Doku, etc . IIRC that is the second time Gvardiol has put Erling on for a goal.

Erling is a monster , just wait until he gets going in the PL , so far very quiet.

Come on Patrick - Doku was terrible last season. The proof of that is his performances this season. People are allowed to say he was crap last season.

He's been class so far this season, hopefully it continues

He's never been terrible playing for us. He was a bit hot and cold last season, but then so were the rest of them.

Surprised at the negativity in here. We win away and kept a clean sheet at a ground where we’ve come unstuck before.

Losing Rodri meant we’d not be as controlled. We actually played really well first half and failed to take a number of chances. Foden left his shooting boots home, despite playing well otherwise.

Not lost a game since Donnarumma signed. He’s having the Ruben Dias impact on our defense. It could be the glue that sets us straight.

Second half we were poor but we didn’t fall apart which was important. Why we get booked at throw ins but they can set it up like a training game and not get booked is shocking by the way.

The debate in Bobb, Sav and Doku is interesting. Bobb and Sav can both do good things but they just don’t do enough in a 90. Last year when Doku was erratic with his end product he still took on his man 2-3x as much as the other two do. Now he’s setting in and scoring he looks so much better than either of them. One or both need to find consistent threat or their spots are being taken by Marmoush and Cherki and they to the back of the line for me.
Tracking back is overrated.

That’s a good win against a decent team.

The reality is our squad is a lot weaker than it was 2 years ago so the performances won’t be as good. But we definitely are seeing an improvement from last season.

We played really well in the first half and should have killed the game off. We need the rest of the players to start contributing with goals. That was a key strength of ours in the past. But Haaland is flying at the moment and his all-round game is looking good.

If I had one complaint, it would be the persistence with Savinho. He’s terrible. I was amazed he stayed on the pitch yesterday. But Pep seems to determined to play him.

All in all, we’re not the side of the past and I’m not expecting us to contend for the title this year. But we’re looking better than last season and are now unbeaten in 7.

I can't agree. He wasn't just cold, he ran down blind alleys, final ball was terrible, goal scoring was crap. Completely the opposite this season

It shows a lot how important is to have someone who keeps an eye on him like Kolo is doing now.

What's Kolo doing with Sav then as he looks to have gone backwards this season.
He got 8 assists last season which is more than Doku or Grealish ever got.
Doku's been a revelation this season so far, Sav the opposite.
