He started the season really well then got injured against Inter and it took him months to recover and I think a lot of that is possibly psychological at his age and with his recent injury record.
I love the guy but it’s totally the right decision in my opinion. I didn't think he played well Friday night, he took his goal well but you could see countless times his legs have gone.
I suspect he won't play at Southampton, he'll have a cameo at Wembley then have the big send off he deserves in the final home game.
