Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Oh, and I've just had a read up on the BBC Sport and Sky Sport sites and guess what? The PL won a victory in this matter!! You could not make it up! They've described the little bits they won on as "the majority of the points" we brought. It's like claiming victory for the bloke found guilty of murder because he was found not guilty of 5 counts of shoplifting at the same time. Rag twats, the lot of them.

Interesting the PL sat on this for two weeks and still haven’t come up with a solution that the red shirt cartel will be happy with.
Masters will be out by Xmas, if not sooner

I always suspected that there must have been a smoking gun in terms of an email, but who would have thought that one club would be so fucking stupid to point the finger at 'the gulf region' just days after the Newcastle takeover. Clearly doing that in the open shows just how much the Americans thought they could get away with it. My money is 100% on Arsenal being the ones behind it all.
Yet despite the clearly discriminatory basis and timing of the vote being called, it's interesting the panel didn't believe the PSR amendments were discriminatory/aimed at the gulf owned clubs, but the optics of that are BAD for the PL.
Although most of City's allegations were rejected, the seismic nature of the issue around shareholder loans (and the fact that the clubs who started all this are amongst those who have just fucked themselves in that regard (Arsenal - $238m) ) is fucking brilliant.
Geordie acquaintance of mine seems to think the "gulf region" email was from spuds.

https://x.com/skysportspl/status/184329 ... 9Awxy5lqVQKaveh Solekhol fairly setting out City’s takes on the findings. City are going to be allowed to take into account much higher amounts on two business sponsorships which should not be ignored in the understandable focus on shareholder loans.

Read the article as well. He did well i think. Shame he couldn't bring himself to questioning other "Costs" like paying Share sale Fees, or even Covid Allowances 40 time more than other clubs. Perhaps he will get around to those in his next column ?

https://x.com/timessport/status/1843343 ... 9Awxy5lqVQTimes also running the story the PL will call an emergency meeting to discuss rule changes. No doubt certain clubs will want an amnesty but shareholder loans on FMV bound to be included in the changes.

What’s the betting that the current PSR rules are amended or scrapped after this as the likes of Arsenal and the rags have huge interest free director loans on their books. Both are in excess of £250M I believe and could even be more. And there’ll be a few other clubs who could have a problem.
As it goes, with the rags announcing losses of £113.2m to 30 June 2024 and previous years' losses were £28.7m and £115.5m. Far in excess of the current permitted allowance of £105M over three years in total. Altering the allowance or scrapping it gives the PL an easy out to not have to bring sanctions against the rags which are surely forthcoming…….

A lot of Premier League Chairmen and Directors will have a choice between converting big loans to equity or facing a PSR squeeze they avoided through the loans in the first place.
