I thought there was already a captains only rule, brought in after certai teams used to surround the ref a la Rooney, Keane etc.

I'm interested in how you see it will be a bad thing though Mase. I'm leaning the other way.

I occasionally ref my kids football games and they have a system there where the ref can instruct a coach to sub a player off. I often wonder if that would work in adult football. Not reducing a team to ten but not allowing a player to carry on.

We’re beating Arsenal 1-0 and the ref adds 9 minutes extra time on and decides to sin bin 3 of our players to help Arsenal. It’ll happen.

A yellow and red has always worked, I don’t see why they have to mess about with it. The extra time will be into 100+ every match.

My view on sin bin is : just another tool in the pigmol armour to enable them to assist the powers that be to manipulate games as they see fit.

100% any team that the rags or Liverpool are playing will get players sin binned towards the end of games to help the Red shite.

Remember the Charity Shield ,how many minutes of second half extra time ( quite long after the first half stoppages).

Arse finally get the equaliser the Cartel is looking for.

So City now start slowing the games down whilst in possession. Ball is active but we roll minutes off the clock, that can' t be mysteriously added on. Recently we have seen games finish within three minutes of et.

10 mins in the sin bin for a yellow card sounds fine to me, it will cut out professional fouling which drives me nuts, players will have to be more disciplined and professional without the foul, because at the moment they’ll take a yellow to stop an attack. It works extremely well in rugby. I also want VAR exchanges live so that everyone can hear it, so we know what they’re looking at. Change will bring something new and potentially better.

In theory it's a good idea. As Sparklehorse says, it works well in rugby. But as a general rule player's in both rugby codes have far more respect to the officials.

In practice, given PiGMOLs record with VAR, it will very likely be a shambles, creating more controversial moments which undoubtedly will favour certain clubs

Exactly. Teams like Spurs that just sit and counter us - we’ll end up with 3 or 4 players a match in the sin bin. This rule doesn’t benefit us whatsoever.

The comparison with rugby is false. Players get sin binned when not even tackling the player with the Ball.

It is seldom a game is pulled up for off the ball actions.

No one is saying that the offences are similar to rugby, that’s irrelevant. My main concern with the way things are is that a player, like Fern or Rodri, and many others from all teams, especially towards the end of a game will take a yellow card to stop a break, that is counterproductive to a flowing game and is plain wrong. The sin bin option will put an end to it, or even if it doesn’t at least it will give the team offended against an advantage. This should be the referee that decides with only the captain permitted to discuss it with the referee which will be pretty pointless…….I’ve been watching football for nigh on 60 years and not once have I seen a referee change his mind over the issue of a yellow card.

On a different note, who do we think these two players and manager are?

Antony is one. That’s pretty obvious.

Aren't the Arse trying to sell one of their best defenders ASAP ?

Not sure if Partey has had his hearing yet or not. He might be the other one.

This whole outrage at people being able to continue working and make a living whilst being accused of a crime is just nuts.

They’re just desperate to ruin the game

Another string to their bow of controlling match outcomes. The number of 'expert' discussions on whether a sin bin call was valid? Thousands
