Is this a good or bad thing ? I quite like going under the radar and let everybody else get the fuss while we get the results. However, a bit of drooling recognition would be nice now and again but we never seem to get it from most quarters.

Poor Phillips, better get used to the national team's bench. For starters, Peps contract runs out in 2025, he'll definitely honour it and I can see him extending to 2027 tbh.

You wouldn't know it from looking at Sly Sports website, but Van Dyke has been suspended for an additional game it seems. In fact, nothing about it on the BBC website either...

If he was approached do you think he would work for the FA knowing the shit they have done to us I would like to think he would tell them to do one .

The England job is the managerial equivalent of going to play in Saudi Arabia. Doubt Pep would consider it yet, even considering the ludicrous money that'll definitely be involved.

That's what I would be worried about some of these Saudi nut jobs will come along and offer Pep 100m a year.

Honestly can't see that happening. From a manager perspective, they'll be sniffing round the calibre of Brendan Rodgers, David Moyes, Ranieri et al. for the foreseeable future.

Moyes?

If you are spending big money on players it stands to reason you want the best to coach them.

If you bought a Ferrari you wouldn't get it serviced by a local grease monkey or put Tesco own brand oil in

A big-name manager doesn't sell shirts. They brought in Gerrard this summer, which is an indicator of the level of manager they're aiming for at the moment. Remember that the Saudi League is centralized, and player/manager recruitment is essentially determined by the league, rather than the clubs. I reckon they're still the best part of a decade away from trying to recruit managers who've consistently won trophies in the 'Big 5' European leagues, if that's even a part of their long-term strategy. Plus, I don't know how a centralized system would go about choosing/allocating top-level managers; there simply aren't enough out there to spread across the entire league.

Yeah, in the same way Capello was a PL manager because he managed the England national team.

Come on JC, you know that all rags can take the moral high ground because their club always do things the right way, the yoonited way.
