If Foden plays like this we won't miss KDB. Great pass to him from Kova too. Was underwhelmed by his signing but been so impressed by him

That was a superb touch by Foden for the assist. Then another foraging run draws a foul from Tonali.

Julian Alvarez has been directly involved in 20 goals in his 26 starts across all competitions for Manchester City, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists.

He is for sure

Has he ever scrored a clean goal ie without deflection , when he cuts in and shoots. He just can't do that. Alvarez giving him a lesson in ball control , shooting and graft

Well the build up had me thinking that decimated City would be easy prey for new super Newcastle.

But maybe there's still hope. Especially with the new Foden

Decent enough first half. Chances at a premium but these are the two best defences from the PL last season so that is to be expected

But we have the goal and are controlling the ball much better than last time out. A big 45 minutes coming up. If we can get the win here that'd be two very tough fixtures out of the way early doors

Excellent first half. Newcastle barely had a sniff. Kovacic has settled in really well. In this crazy market an absolute bargain. Walker playing high up on the right means Foden can play more central.

We as fans have to be patient.Pep and the team have worked out that if we keep the ball rolling and don't allow the opposition time on the ball,no dead balls or throw ins , they cannot waste time.

We might see a few low scoring games until the Refs forget it all.

Controlling the game very well considering Newcastle are a very decent team. Kovacic has been excellent linking defence to attack and foden finding those little David Silva pockets I've been crying out for him to attack, all been very good. Alvarez, well done lad, but please work on that first touch, a few times he's been fed a good ball by ederson and made a tit of it. It will come in time though, he is mustard. Jack doing well with ball retention but against a top right back like trippier he needs to try something else.

Can't fault them really, we've been very good if not at our creative best. Erling has a goal in him and kovacic is trying to find him, which is great to see.
