I like to read your posts mate but come on. Whatever the views on managers, isn't it a bit premature to putting up comparisons?
It's as if the Worlds gone mad and fans wnat us to go back to the 90's where we changed managers as often as underwear. Are we not giving him until the end of the season........at least?
BobKowalski wrote:Its 'Manager Idol' the show where you get to pick the City manager. Thats right folks every candidate gets 15 games and then you vote for your favourite candidate. So first up is Roberto. Roberto is 43 and is Italian. Tell us a bit about yourself Roberto.
"Weel its no important but I manage Inter and win Serie A and the Copa Italia with ah Lazio and then..."
"Yes thats very nice Roberto but tell me we don't seem to be charging forward anymore now surely that is the way to success?"
"Weel ah no it is important that the players, and they are good players, it is important that they concentrate and work as a team..."
"Yes but Roberto we are used to scoring at least 3 goals in every game with lots of attacking and hopefully the defence coping with the holes at the back"
"Ah no that is good but you see top ah teams and players they have how you say discipline? And it is important..."
"I'm sorry Roberto I am sure that is very interesting but frankly its not really for us and your 15 games have been patchy and whilst you have marginally improved the league position on the previous manager it has been a bit dull at times and we honestly feel that if you were that good a manager then you would have won all the games with lots of style so I can't see you scoring very highly with the public so its back to you Brucie and our next candidate"
"Yes thank you Tess, whats with that Roberto and this Serie A business, this isn't Italy you know Roberto. Now can we have the next candidate please"
I have seen the future and it is here :)

No its not unfortunately as I'm not comparing our managers decisions, I am comparing our Board of Directors decisions. They sacked Hughes as they said he wasn't able to deliver what they needed from him, that is to say a manager that can win us the league.
Therefore, I'm doing these comparisons to see how much better Mancini is than Hughes.

My apologies mate, i'd read your comments as anything other than the Boards decisions. Were they right or wrong?

That said, the point is mancini is young and it was a definite quality I wanted in our manager - young, ambtitious with attractive football. That way we'll probably have him for years, which is what I want - long term dominance.
I hope to God we've just turned a corner because I do like the man himself and I want this to work so badly.
Can't wait for the next game. Fuck internationals.
It's not completely true though, not now at least. I mean, Juve, Inter and Milan surely form a big 3 in Italy, but it's not always definite who the fourth force is, I'd say Roma and Fiorentina aren't too far apart and then there's Napoli trying to push in.johnpb78 wrote:Original Dub wrote:I think the whole point was that he was a young manager with good experience in the premier league, where most cups and honours fall to the same four teams... If you accept that Roma, Milan, Inter and Juve are Italy's big 4, then I think his situation at Fiorentina and Lazio, who were both in huge financial messes is not too dissimilar to les
Although both bigger clubs than Blackburn in terms of fan base, both were in a big decline, had sold/were selling their best players and were considered relegation/mid table at best when he won those cups. It certainly was enough to get him a job at Inter and he didnt let them down.
I'm almost in a positive mood after writing that, this guy might actually know what he is doing, and he definately has that track record of achievement that we levelled as an issue against Hughes, so maybe we have no right to complain about his tactics.
