Neves going Saudi for £47m at 26 years of age. Mental.
Even more mental, BBC - “Neves has been central to their success since joining from Porto in 2017.”
Wolves’ success. Where? When? What?

Could all be filtered into the Newcastle project?

When does the Saudi season start and finish?
A loan to Newcastle, not dissimilar to Lampards to us from New York, wouldn’t surprise me. Saves Newcastle paying a transfer fee freeing up funds for other purchases
And it could be constructively argued Wolves success has been to simply remain in the PL and to get into Europe. Not many promoted sides are still going strong in the PL after 5/6 years. Winning actual pots is highly unlikely to be fair. Success is relative to where a club comes from and its budget. Wolves have done well in this regard

Can’t agree Notts. Success would be building on something. Last season they were fighting relegation. Can’t be classes as success just because your owner is a tight bastard. West Ham were fighting relegation but still won a pot. No reason Wolves can’t give the League Cup a good run.

How many times in the last 12-15 years has anyone other than the big 5/6 clubs won a domestic trophy? Off the top of my head Leicester have won 2. And seriously punched above their weight and are now relegated

Wigan beat us. It happens.

It does. But rarely. And most, if not all, PL chairmen would happily take staying in the PL season after season than actually winning anything.
Those two sides who actually won things are now no longer in the top division and in Wigans case are near enough bankrupt. Leicester's finances are in a parlous state and if it hadn't been for their owner wiping out nearly £200m worth of debt, they too would be facing far greater financial woe.
Fans would largely sooner win things. But club chairmen prefer the money the PL brings.

https://twitter.com/plettigoal/status/1 ... 9Awxy5lqVQThis guy is paid to be close to Bayern. Too many stories to ignore. It’ll be a surprise if Walker doesn’t go to Bayern now. The club could easily have put the kibosh on by now. So could Walker. So could Bayern.

Mad how football works now. No agreement between the clubs but a deal agreed between player and club? Remember when that happened last summer with Ake and Chelsea, just silly.
For what it’s worth I think Walker is stupid. Constantly in the press for cheating on his Mrs or getting his cock out on public. He’ll be in a German prison by Christmas.

Yes the days of complaints on tapping up are long gone. I guess City knew about Bayern’s interest and Walker’s keenness and were happy to let things play out. Pep’s line is clear if you want to go so be it provided that the Club are satisfied with the terms. Barca couldn’t afford Bernardo last year ( or anywhere near) so no deal. Sadly PSG can make a big offer. As for Walker I don’t suppose the Club expects or will get a large fee for a 33 year old on a one year contract.

We won’t get a large fee for him because other clubs already know our stance, if you want to go you can go. Already puts us on the back foot when negotiating. Only person it’s worked with so far is Bern, and that’s because no one had the funds for him. Like you say, PSG is different.

I'm not that bothered about Rice, but, I wouldn't mind us snatching him just to piss off Arsenal and watch them implode.
As for Walker, it's one of those, he's been great and maybe it's a mistake letting him go, however we got to factor in his age, why wait until he dettorates? we need to address now for the future. I'm 50/50 on this. I rather he didn't go, I hope Pep knows what he's doing.

Pep ALWAYS knows what he is doing...doesn't always work out but his successes FAR outweigh his failures. So I'll keep on trusting him.

Thing is there are other parameters in play besides Pep.

The mahrez stuff has smoke too I heard today. His bird would base herself in dubai. But its all about playing time. He was gutted not to get on in the last two finals.

Love Kyle, but I think he knows why Pep just might have had enough of his crossing the line. He has had enough warnings. Like most of you we all hear the rumours!!!

Luke Shaw openly admitting to tapping up England players. Is the guy thick? Can’t imagine the likes of Levy will let it go..
