Thing is Mase, while I kind of agree it’s annoying. Today was the first time in ages I have seen us fully dominate a team for 45 mins and give them absolutely nothing while creating multiple chances.

Had the players done their jobs in front goal we’d be looking at out best performance (in terms of football and dominance) this year.

That’s why I’m so fucked off.

Correct, should've walked it - Erling needs to control himself better.

Play a settled back 4 with our best defenders and we don’t concede. The back 3, then back 4, then Walker, then Lewis, then Bernardo at LB then Ake then Gomez. Dias with Akanji, Dias with Laporte. Akanji and Ake. Ake with Laporte. Where does Stones go? When you type it all out it’s ridiculous. No wonder Ederson doesn’t know whether he’s coming or going ffs.

With the stats and numbers he has, We really can’t say anything bad about Haaland when he has a bad day at the office.
His numbers are insane when you think we have no idea how to fully use his qualities.

If he was a doubt for Wednesday but played and ran himself into the ground, why the fuck did Pep play him today? Away to Forest, just whack Julian in! Give Haaland a rest to fully recover.

Sadly, logic thinking doesn’t work with Pep.

Or having him on from the start in a settled back line?

This persistence with a back three is not going to end with us receiving silverware. We will get found out in the CL and it is already costing us in the PL.

I don't think Arsenal will win at the City ground if its any consolation.

Honestly reckon today will be the result that sees us go on a title winning run. The hard work was arsenal, today was about putting in a performance. We didn't get the result but we created plenty whereas we've been guilty of barely offering a shot on target before the villa game.

We're relying on arsenal slipping up yes, but today will be a catalyst. Walker's comments after the game have convinced me we're up for the challenge.

When I worked in the USA, they had a saying - Monday morning quarterbacks. I feel I am getting to be one of them, pointing out mistakes is very easy after the event, so we should just take this on the fucking chin and look forward to the next game. We are the best team and will prevail.

Agree, however, we seem to see these mistakes before they happen. From the lineup.
We see them, who in fairness, are amateurs, but the most important man, does not.

That is quite a problem.

The only way to win it is to stop rotating on the back until the end of the season.
And in fairness, I can’t see it happen.

Like OD said above, it’s an odd season, but what is weird for me is how we’ve lost our head.

We’re not going on a long winning run, we’re far too inconsistent and nowhere near good enough this season.

Just accept that we’re going to have to rely on Arsenal and Utd to drop some more points along the way if we’re to win this thing.

If both were even 50pc of what they should be, this would have been a walkover.

It's not lack of subs that lost this game, that's absolutely for sure.

We should have won at a canter for sure but for pep to not make any subs till 3 minutes from the fucking end was just typical of him , especially as KDB was having his worst game EVER for us .

It’s beyond comprehension how this manager ,who bitched and whined for the prem to change to 5 subs , has such a shit record of using his subs to change a game .

Seriously , he’s fucking shit at it .

It's two different arguments though Carl.

The argument of whether pep can use subs properly and the argument over why we most likely didn't win this game.

I just think the easiest things in the world for fans like us to do is scream for change during a game.

We should have won this game by three clear goals at least, based on chances and general play.

That doesn't scream that change was needed.

If certain players on the pitch are missing chance after chance - KDB efforts were piss poor today his timing was off, Foden was better but missed a sitter, Haaland missed an open goal from 10 feet etc i dont know what else tells a manager a change was necessary. Alvarez for KDB would have lifted our energy up front and i also think Alvarez is more consistent when given a chance. Our strength used to be passing the legs off the opposition, 2nd half we used to roll them over. Doesnt work as well when teams bring on 5 subs. Forest were energised long enough to get a goal back and we reacted far too late. Ps Haaland i think made a meal out of a soft touch on his shoulder, didnt think it was a pen. Too much is being made out of conspiracy theories when we have a bad day. We'd have missed the pen anyway

Why no Alvarez until three minutes to go?

Why not just play a set system.

Why can we not change earlier especially against pub sides who just park the bus.

The problem I think is in the middle we lack a leader / enforcer when KDB is off form. I think we also play too wide almost to accommodate Grealish’s favoured three step overs and a shimmy. We need to be more direct and dynamic and stop trying to walking it in from three yards or lash ir in from 33 yards.

I don’t often have a go at City players, the opposite in fact, but their casual attitude, poor decision making and arrogance in front of goal got on my nerves today. You always need another goal. I hope Pep tears a strip of the front line after that shitshow. They had enough chances to win half a dozen games. Put the fucking thing in the net.

Three at the back does not make Rodri miss a free header; it does not make Foden fall flat on his fucking face when two on one in their box; it does not make Haaland twat it over the bar from seven yards; it does not make Kev scuff numerous shots miles wide when others are better placed to score. Blaming the formation is missing the point. In fact, the extra forward player helps a lot.

I believe concentration and humility are needed but they were in very short supply today. It needs putting right v Leipzig but we know from experience that it can be done. Come on, boys.

Correct TB.

We don't need the perfect second goal , we just need the second goal ( difference) cushion , if it comes of Banjo Playing Nūnez's arse , so be it.

To those who saw the game, how did Foden do?
Only saw MotD highlights so you can't tell. Obviously fluffed his lines in an important moment when clear through on goal by not passing when he should have done. But that aside, is the old Phil there?

Foden was moving well , running well and fast. He could have released the ball quicker sometimes , but he got to the bye line a couple of times and the cross wasn't just right .

It is as if the club have told the players, you assist haarland and you get a big bonus . They are all trying it. Foden had absolutely no reason not to shoot when in the one on one in the second half, yet he tried to lay it off to Erling unnecessarily.

OK. Sounds more promising than what he has produced of late

Wouldn't say it was unnecessary to lay it to Haaland as that's the percentage play. He probably scores that 98/100 whereas Foden shooting and scoring will be a lower figure.
