You have touched on a key issue here, the accusations that City and the company auditors committed fraud over a period of nine years is pure fantasy, something that needs copper bottom proof, no anecdotes, no maybes outright objective evidence of fraud. Having worked as an auditor at a very high level for twenty years (quality management) I find it impossible to believe the auditors are either negligent or corrupt, impossible for me to believe.

This keeps getting more interesting and the reasons seem to be emerging.

Re Newcastle takeover reminder:
Richard Masters is the PL CEO. From wikipedia:

'On 9 September 2020, Richard Masters was accused by Newcastle United of not "acting appropriately" in relation to the Premier League's blocking (the takeover)..........This was following accusations from the consortium that the Premier League had deliberately misapplied their Owners' and Directors' test in order to frustrate the deal, due to improper influence from various third parties to block it.[9] On the 29th September 2021, a Competition Appeal Tribunal heard that Masters and the Premier League "Abused its position" after it was "improperly influenced" by outside agencies such as the Qatari owned media outlet, BeIN Sports.'

BelN Sports hold the PL TV rights for the Middle East and North Africa until 2025. BelN has played a major role in the increased commercialization of Qatari sports. Its chairman is Nasser Al-Khelaifi, and its CEO is Yousef Obaidly. The chairman and the CEO are PSG guys, heavily involved in bringing the WC to Qatar which means they have very close ties to the Qatar state.

Richard Masters (pl ceo) has been proved to have 'abused his position' under pressure from BelN Sports whose CEO was instrumental in corrupt behavior that resulted in the WC being held in Qatar and who has very close ties to the Qatari state.

Now it is emerging that Qataris (allegedly two different groups) want to buy Liverpool and Manchester United.
And Richard Masters PL CEO (caved in under pressure from Qatar re Newcastle) has instigated an FFP investigation against City.
City are owned by Abu Dhabi an Emirate of the UAE.
The UAE and Qatar only restored diplomatic relations in 2021. In December 2022 Qatar were accused of running influencing campaigns in the European Parliment (i.e. bribing people). Qatar denied this and accused the UAE of launching a smear campaign against them.
Lets just say the UAE and Qatar are not friendly and that both have a mutually exclusive goal of achieving the same goals via sports sponsorship via football.

I looked at the video. I thought the PL had gone mad, City's board is politically connected to UAE and China via Khaldoon and Li Ruigang. Both heavyweights.
Then I did a look arounf Google and saw the above.

Maybe I am a conspiracy nut but this game is being played at a far higher level than the PL.
The PL is looking more like a puppet doing it masters business.
I will be shocked now if at least one of the two Red clubs are not Qatari owned (or have Qatar 'investment') by the start of next season.

The Valuations of the Rags and Scouse2 are absolutely ridiculous, any Qatar Consortium that gives the kind of money those scumbags at Old Toilet want , must be a complete and utter idiot. More than half a billion in debt and in need of a New Toilet, training facilities too old, You would have to be an idiot to buy anything from those Floridian wallies.

Can a buyer clear a debt as part of the purchase or must debt remain on the books after purchase?
If a club is servicing say a £200M debt on transfers and the asking price is £1B.
Can the purchaser say here is £800M to the seller and here is £200M to the Bank to clear the transfer debt. I want to start with a clean sheet or must the £200M debt stay on the books?
Thinking from an FFP point of view.

Presumably that’s entirely down to the seller. It’s up to them what offer they accept

What punishment did tottenham get for their financial irregularities? Ours should be no more in the unlikely event we have actually done anything.

The Football Association's punishment for Spurs' financial irregularities included the deduction of 12 points from next season's Premiership campaign, suspension from the 1994-95 FA Cup and a record pounds 600,000 fine plus costs.

Bloody hell, I don't remember that either. Must have been in love at the time.

As they didn't have points deducted in 94-95 and were in the cup (going out to Everton in the semis) I assume they appealed it and won.

Every weekend I watch the PL being turned into WWE with farcial VAR 'decisions' to keep the Red teams relevant.
Every weekend I see the dice loaded quietly for the Red teams to win, best example is how yellow and red cards are distributed.
All media outlets brush over this blatant fixing and then highlight the brilliant wins. The Derby robbery being a perfect example.

IMO FFP irregularities are a minor offense compared to on-field cheating.
That is what the Red teams are doing, courtesy of VAR and Refs, week after week.
The media are willing participants in this cheating.

I don't care if we cooked the books or not. We play fair, where it matters, on the football pitch.
We won our trophies on the playing field, above and beyond fair and square, we had one hand tied behind our backs.

Liverpool have one PL title, VAR assisted, dirty and rotten to the core. Where are the media to point this out? I would not want to win a PL like that. No way.

The longer this goes on the worse it is for the PL product.
Go to court, drag it out as long as possible, stink the place out, drag the PL into a sewer, 4 years of tarnishing 'the product' and win all charges at the end.
That is the best way to get back at the corrupt PL.

I think he just slung it back at them, now the media will turn on other clubs for pointing their fingers. The vultures will hunt for headlines and Pep just gave them the impetus to go after them for clickbait. There will be lots of finger pointing, lots of fingering by the sound of it. The PL is turning into a circus. Long it may continue until we've proven our innocence.

I thank you Pep from the bottom of my heart for putting a smile on my face
