When he did the same at Leicester I got a load of grief for calling him, fucking disgusting lack of respect, I bet if there was an equivalent in Barcelona, like the remembrance of the siege of Barcelona in their civil war he wouldn’t have turned up like some homeless person at Piccadilly square, scruffy disrespectful twat for me

Im not from a military family or background but I did go to our local cenotaph yesterday. All of the old veterans and most of the audience put pep to shame. Shocking lack of respect shown and I'm surprised that anyone would say otherwise

1. Yes, it was disrespectful. I think Leicester (despite looking scruffy) is forgivable, because there's a decent chance he didn't know about the wreath laying.
2. I don't know why he's wearing this gear in general. It's not sport-efficient, nor managerial, and it doesn't seem to be supporting a cause. Is it just his own brand that he's promoting? The off-the-shelf stressed jeans are a mess (I'm not sure if it's the same type every time), and - in my opinion - are worse than the hoodie. If he insists on drawing attention to his own clobber, he should at least wear some trousers that don't make him look like he's celebrating his A-Level results in the local Yates's.

I’m guessing that Puma said they wanted the manager in their gear too. One day out of the year wearing a shirt and tie wouldn’t have done any harm though.

Cheers - I'd never noticed the Puma logo before (on closer inspection there is one, but it's just above the sleeve cuff of his, not next to the pocket/pouch), and assumed the 'P' stood for 'Pep'.

For me it is simple.
I went to a funeral mass on Friday. I made the effort to wear a shirt, trousers, shoes and appropriate coat as a mark of respect to the dead and their family. What I did or did not ware, did not affect my regard for the dead. I wore it to ensure the family of the dead knew I respected the occasion.
IMO Pep should have done the same, for the same reasons.

Fully agree. He shouldn't be given carte blanche to wear whatever he wants, but the question is who within the club should be drawing the line on what he wears; I'd guess it's a PR responsibility. To top it off - like I said above - those stressed jeans (or at least the pair I've seen photos of) are DSquared jeans, and have no place on the pitchside, memorial service or not.

I think if you are attending a service or a formal event i'd would personally like to see people dress smart. Jacket ,trousers,tie, overcoat etc and i would also like to see Pep ditch the hoodie and jean look, but i guess he's wear the clubs sponsor clothing so he's supporting the cause. I don't doubt Pep's integrity in support of worthy causes and charities helping people less fortunate than most of us and i don't see him 'disrespecting' the meaning of laying a wreath becausd of his casual attire. I've attended numerous remembrance services and its something i've always felt strongly. My attire has varied from a tux at the Royal Albert Hall to cycling lycra at the Arc De Triomph but it didn't alter my level of support or respect for all those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice
