Who would you keep and who would you sell in the summer?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

We have to give Grealish another year, thats a no brainer. Mahrez and others have taken a season to get the gist of it.

If he hasnt improved dramatically during next season then i'd agree

Yep.
But your post got me thinking, Zuri and actually, even we indeed do not sell, neither the other big teams don’t have a great record. Except Chelsea who had some kind of money laundering system with Luiz and Lukaku, the others do not sell. The rags, can’t recall selling someone after Tranny to Madrid? Scouse except Coutinho forcing his way out?
Real Madrid? Except Tranny to Juventus? Barcelona except Neymar to Psg? Psg surely no one.

So, looks like the big clubs don’t sell good and buy expensive?

I don’t think we can replace too many of our squad cheaply and need a striker.

Realistically the players we’d miss the least play the least now. Nobody who plays week in week out with high value is easily replaced.
Tracking back is overrated.

I think we would get money for Jesus, to be honest, is he delivering more value than cole palmer or Delap would? I would say no

The money they are talking from Juventus would make him the best we ever sold, right?

Yeah. £60-65m. Can’t see Juve having that kind of money though.

Another deal with italians. Loan Jesus for five years, while we pay his wages and they pay us the transfer fee in 20 years. :D
But I think they are a bit desperate after the fiasco from the past two seasons.

They’re 4th and have just crashed out the CL so they may well start panic buying.

Hope so
As mentioned earlier, Delap surely wouldn't weaken the team that much if he replaced him.

But could you imagine the amount of boiling piss from the football world if we sold Jesus for £50-60m and then bought Haaland for not much more

Good point! We’ve also just sold Torres for around €55m which covers a lot of the Haaland fee. If we sold Jesus (I actually hope we don’t as I feel he does offer us something) and on top of that the Torres fee we could potentially be €45m+

Sterling and Jesus would be the top two alternatives to sell on; If we can find buyers for them at the right price.

Benjamin Mendy will run his contract down I guess, as he is unsellable...

Ferna should be given an administrative role after this season.

Saleable assets as mentioned are Sterling and Jesus. Mahrez would be another but I don't see us letting him go. The emergence of Palmer and Mcatee is a bonus along with Delap but we are still short up top. I can see one of Ake and / or Laporte going in the summer. Ake cannot be happy at not playing and Laporte is just a mard arse with a chip on his shoulder

Have to agree on Laporte, changed his national allegiance because the French didn't appreciate him FFS :o

TBF I think Ake will stay one more season before deciding he needs to be playing regularly rather than just being in it for the coin.

I don't see Mahrez going anywhere soon top goal scorer this season so far, why would we want shot of him?

Don't think it's because he wasn't appreciated. There's obviously an issue with him and Deschamps so he made the decision.
There's so much animosity on this board towards him which i just don't get. He's played nearly every game this season and we've got the best defensive record in the league. Better than the dippers. He must be doing something right.

He (Laporte) gets too much stick. He doesn't make any more maitakes than anyone else. But when the blinkers are on, they are on.

We need Laporte as Stones fitness cannot be relied upon.

I think most of us know Stones and Dias is the best partnership, but Laporte with either is pretty close.

Ake I think will leave within a year or two. When you have 3 top CB’s you probably need a kid or a utility player as the 4th.
