It's easy to say Sterling should have scored or Bernardo shouldn't have missed an open net but the reality is that if you have an out and out striker in those situations, the likelihood of scoring is greatly increased. I personally don't think much of the ciritism on this thread is valid (although everyone can have an opinion), Mahrez and Grealish did ok for me, Kev too, Sterling wasn't great but he wasn't terrible. We did almost enough to deserve to win the game, the only thing we didn't was the things an out and out striker should have done. The elephant in the room is absolutely the club's failure to replace Sergio. Maybe Jesus or Torres could have been played in that position but they are not the strategic solutions.
So you don’t think the player that was responsible for the goal and arguably the second one as well didn’t have a terrible game ?
You lose all credibility in your argument when you defend the fucking indefendible !
We played Chelsea off the park last week with no striker and guess what - Sterling wasn’t playing .
We played half of last season without Sterling with no striker and guess what , we won the Prem .
We played the CL with Sterling and guess what , we lost .
I’m guilty more than most for zooming in and magnifying mistakes , but fuck me , Sterling is a liability in this team when we play TOP sides and most fans can see this . Our other players get moved around to accommodate him when he does play , none more so than Foden who pisses all over Sterling as a football player but ends up playing out of his best position .
Let’s Just say it how we see it and stop with the blind support this player gets just because 2 years ago he was really good !
