Sterling was not responsible for that defeat. Grealish and Mahrez were invisible and Kevin still not at his best. The back four played well as did Bernie and Rodri.

On this occasion I don't think we can blame Sterling, we just need a striker.

They’ve played like a perfect anti-City team and with their forward line, they’d always get moments. What has also got to be remembered is that the teams they play either side of this game are lower to mid table sides whereas the PL serve us with Chelsea and Liverpool.

That’s where I have real sympathy with any team that isn’t supported by their league.

It’s early, but if we are smart we will take this as a lesson to break the bank for Halaand in the winter window.
We cannot do this until the end of time. in big games, when you are one down, you need to score from half of chance.

Its simple.

PSG better team on the night.
We had nothing upfront, toothless in front of goal.

He certainly helped them to their win - he couldn’t control that loose ball in the center circle and they went on and scored .

That might be true, but I was reacting to the comment saying Sterling was piss poor for not getting there first when the keeper lost the ball. Which is just somone picking any excuse to jump on the boo boy to be honest.

Sterling is a forward, he should be on his front foot incase the keeper spills it. The keeper did and Sterling was nowhere near it because he gave up. Attitude is shocking at the moment. Complete lack of effort from him.

thought we played better then them, but trying to walk the ball in the net isnt going to happen unless we play norwich or arsenal, need to get a bit of space and shoot, not try to go around 3-4 players b4 shooting

I'm just tired of the blinkered respons on here when we don't win. There's never any sort of rational thought going into it – instead there always has to be someone to blame (Sterling, Guardiola, Stones, Jesus, Mahrez, etc.). It is over simplistic and deflects from the real reason(s) we lose.

He's been shit but not entirely his fault. Pep is the one who keeps playing him through the middle and he's not good enough. We've known that for years. The only way Sterling should get anywhere near the pitch is playing out wide. He makes very little happen in the box. No movement to get ahead of defenders and just waits between them in the hope that someone puts it on a plate for a tap in.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Better team lost but that’s football.

I’m more concerned with the wastefulness of kev mahrez and jack than Sterling. Phil and Jesus no better when they came on, not their fault at all though.

Let’s be honest, this game was not about a player that was played in a different position, that is this thread. Kev was fairly shite, Grealish too if you think about it. Mahrez was back to his FFS and our defence must’ve been shite because we lost 2-0.

For me, we were never winning this one after the weekend and whether you want to blame 1 player or 11, we tried to play it the right way and win.

Kev even when he's not fully on his game still creates more than anyone else. Sterling can't do it in the middle, Grealish got absolutely nothing from the referee. Bernardo did nothing 2nd half, passes were too short and gave us nothing. I thought the defence were really good, 1st goal was a freak and 2nd was just a great goal.
With the Chelsea, PSG, Dippers away games I said I'd rather win the 2 league ones and lose here than 3 draws and I stand by that. We're still going to go through

We need a clinical CF.
Until we get one we will struggle to convert chances in certain matches.

The problem i have with this defeat is the fact it is not a one off, by that I mean, we have possession, look a threat, however they keep it tight and score with their only chances.
We have seen this type of defeat before, it all points to the lack of a true striker who fashions goals out of next to nothing, like Sergio at his peak, until we get such a player, we will have more of this type of defeat against canny coaches and the better teams
