I wonder how much of that is the influence of Sacchi? Remember Pep reached out to him last year and the Italian told him the team lacks pressing. We did it close to perfection on our run last year.

More to do with Lillo I think.
Since Lillo joined we became more solid and pragmatic. First we sorted out our defending (remember all those soft goals we conceded), got a lot of low scoring wins without conceding, then we got our attack working again.
The only blip was the CL final where we reverted to a pre Lilllo setup. IMO Lillo acts like Pep's conscience, keeping him in check and adding a touch of pragmatism to Pep's ideas.

Indeed. He brings so much more than Arteta, imho. But all comes down to his experience.

No doubt there was a change when he arrived, clearly a big help to Pep (he must have taken a day off last May though ;) )

Not only last May, but the first few months of the season after he joined we were dog shit as well!
We don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. Lillo could literally do fuck all for all we know. Mental how we won’t get behind certain players that we can see what they provide to the team, but we’ll get behind some old fart that we don’t even know what he does!

A little ageist in tone but true enough :)

I doubt he does fuck all, Pep always seems to be talking to him on the bench, often with animation. But your right we will never know the true extent of his influence, but I guess its way more beneficial than not.
Not getting behind players? Eh, only one I see fans giving out about on a consistent level is Sterling.

Pep is not going to have anyone around us who is not a workaholic. Eats sleeps footballl. I don’t know what he does but will guess it’s all about improving us every day.

We do it all the time. Jesus was crap, this season he’s amazing. Stones crap, last season solid. Kev has had stick. I’ve given my fair share of stick, but I’m not creaming my pants about Lillo. We all know what these players can bring, yet we’re happy to big up someone we know absolutely nothing about but not the players? Mental.

Spot on this- Laporte got it loads last season because of a bad CL game the season before and the fact Stones was playing well.
Ederson gets it practically every time a shot beats him, Gundo got it in spades as did Mahrez. Like you say even Kev gets it 1 bad pass and he gets grief from some even though he's always trying a killer ball and they come off more often than not.

I forgot to add as well that we’ve become better defensively and more organised because of Dias, not Lillo. We’ve hit the lottery with Dias not only as a defender, but as captain material as well. Crazy that it seems not a lot of teams were in for him. Whoever scouted him deserves a promotion!

Not bad, but could’ve done better.
