Your fans are shite.

In the man, thats right. We rarely generate a decent atmosphere. We made a lot more noise when we were shite but the stadium acoustics are not the best. Few can beat our away support though

Away supporters are the heart and soul of the club .
I loved supporting City away in the 80.s - when we were mega shite.
Loved it .

Any ticketing issues in the 80s Carl?

lol
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

What were the usual prices in the 90s? Not 80?
I recall Wallsall away in 99/00, first away game and I think it was around 15 quid also.

Quite a lot then for us.

I’m sure our season ticket in the Kippax in 96 was £350

Exciting to see the almost ridiculous levels of young talent we have in our academy, and that was with no Delap.

There’s a Fabrizio Romano video out on Kayky (Kai-ee-key) signing along with Metinho with their agent where they all rave about the CFG academy and global club “system.”

They refer to how CFG reaches into different countries to allow more insights and connections, along with City’s growing reputation as a club as being highly attractive to top young players, and in Brazil of course we’ve had a few in our team (also on loan i.e. Cuto) adding to interest in joining us over other clubs.

They mentioned City’s academy coaching and “system” as being vital, but I think one key aspect I did not hear and they’d likely agree is that we know even for players that do not end up with City (most, of course) many were signed by or are presently at a minimum decent, some good some top level European leagues and clubs.

In other words, even if you don’t make it at City, I can see agents and players thinking the reputation of the player being worth signing by someone else will be higher simply because they came through or were signed by City. We know some players who have barely or even never played a game for City (I think) who have later played in top European leagues.

I think this is one reason even after Pep is gone, which will be a blow as for some of these players some coaching with him they will feel can help them or their reputation, that the attractiveness will remain.

We are currently 11th (level with 7 other clubs with 17, for most academy players in top 5 leagues while another 14 clubs are ahead) but this crop feels may be a burst that moves us up.

I don't think it was that much. I can't remember what I paid in 96, but when we moved to COMS my first season was in tier 2 of the east stand, it was the most expensive season ticket there if I remember right, and that was £380. The new Kippax wasn't the most expensive spot was it? and even if it was would it have only risen £30 in nine years, even with a few spent outside the top division?

Good summation, mate. We have turned the CFG into a money making exercise that supports MCFC as well as our sister clubs. It used to be the likes of United who would sell their young cast-offs for huge amounts but now it’s the us and Chelsea who have nurtured the youth in order to further their careers.

How lucky we are to have custodians with such foresight.

Just spoken to my dad. He said it was just under £1000 total for x2 kids and x2 adults - front row of second tier of the new Kippax.

@PP - he said his first ever season ticket in 1972 cost him £13

I once had a season ticket at Warrington RLFC. It cost me a tenner. When I lost it I just bought another one.

When I was in the army and based in alder shit I used to go down now and again and watch Aldershot play - we’d just climb a fence .

We used to do the same with Bury when I was a kid. If we got caught we’d just go back at halftime and they’d let us in for a quid.

Woah.
For us, 15 quid was much because the average income the late 90s was about 100 dollars here in Romania.
