I did agree. He has previous for this.

I for one hope we dont get him. Has too much baggage for me and the figures banded about I really think we could be much better in improving other areas of our squad

IF Messi senior is in Barcelona then it points to a resolution one way or the other. He is not going to weaken his bargaining position by saying that he's off is he?

No-one knows what is going to happen here but if the negativity in the press is anything to go by, he is on the move

In what way does saying he’s going weaken his bargaining power mate?

Guaranteed he signs a new deal with Barca before the end of the week.

IF we are being played by camp Messi, then Messi senior wants to keep both sides sweet hes not going to show us his cards the first time as he wants a counter from Barca if that's where he wants to be
He / they can whistle out of their arses if we ARE being fucked about, my gut is saying not as he is burning bridges with Pep and I doubt he would do that?

I

If he stays at Barca Pep will be happy. He won’t have burnt bridges imo. We still aren’t aware why Pep went to Barca last week. Imo he went to help sort the issues at Barca.

Pep will be 'so, so' happy...

Everyone who is running for barca president have stated that their next manager will be Xavi so unless Pep has an upstairs gig in mind, it makes no sense for him to get involved in their shite

Anyone else feeling somewhat indifferent to the outcome of this?

Some of the numbers I've read (albeit tabloid) are alarming.

Wont get much more than a year out of him.

There seems to be an accepted state of the negotiations by the media sources on the ball between Messi,s legal team and Barca as ......
Messi is leaving Barca one way or another , either now or he signs a pre contract agreement with MCFC in January which definitely allows him to go for free . Bartomeu is in a corner , accept a nominal fee now or lose Messi for free effectively in just 4 months . Messi apparently refusing to play or engage with Barca if Bartomeu doesn’t agree to let him go now .
Personally got feeling this is going to drag on and on and become a huge distraction to our season but who knows ?

We don't "need" Messi and if Barca are looking for a compromise deal that is anywhere near the figures being bandied about, then walk away until Jsnuary and crack on with our other pressing recruitment.

Im sure that we will have this covered, but I would not be looking to pay him a signing on fee in January for any kind of stupid money either

But not signing a new contract - this isn’t what Barça want

Yep. He’s going to stay another season. By which time the current president will be gone and he’ll sign another extension.

Really embarrassing how as a club we get sucked in to this shit every single summer.

To be fair Mase, I don't think the club did get sucked in. I think it was the media and the fans.
