Surely the number1 fan on the site will know he seems to be “in the know” he got it spot on about Mendy going last week, eagerly awaiting his update from my armchair.

This is what the fuss is all about. Some cracking free kicks, delightful chips and of course dazzling dribbling. I particularly liked the one early on with the Spanish commentator reduced to saying Messi, Messi, Messi, Messi.

Here’s hoping.

I'd also add that once he's in the box it's not often he misses the target. If we sign him (and it's still a big if) Sterling may realise that his finishing isn't quite there yet.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

I think Messi discovered some time ago that eight yards x eight feet wants some missing from close range, sadly, Sterling has yet to discover that fact.

Starting to fear this will become a it of a distraction. Work needs to be done elsewhere on the pitch and going into the new season with all our eggs in the Messi basket and not getting him will be a disaster.

I don't want us paying a fee for him. Wonderful player but two years of his wages + a huge fee is not going to guarantee us winning the league. Angelinho or Garcia going in a goodwill gesture is a far as I'd go. A top-quality center-half and a left-back for the next 5 years are far more than important than a PR signing that might at best give us two good years.

Agree with this 100%.

How juve signed ronaldo is how it should be done but it wont. This is already a huge distraction.

How do we know its a big distraction? IF we already had our transfer targets set up with two already done and only (possibly) waiting for Napoli to land their replacement for Koubs, I think that was where we were going to stop - pending maybe off loading defensive deadwood.. Messi is a bonus that we will walk away from if the deal is not for us

Did you seriously think la Liga wouldn’t side with Barca? This means nothing. This is a huge deal and will take time. Is it worth it? Of course it is.

Once we knew Messi was serious ( which he obviously is) we were bound to do everything we could to get him. If he doesn’t come it will be a huge disappointment but I wouldn’t regret trying. Meanwhile we pursue Koulibaly whatever happens. I personally hope Aouar too.

Simple really, La liga will be damaged if/when Messi leaves, they have already lost lady boy and Neymar, why the damage? Because television/image and advertising money will be further lost, so you can see why they would support Barca.

Despite the fact that the rest of La Liga get to share 20-30% of the revenue, 20-30% of nothing is nothing so last resort time. Messi goes and there is literally fuck all left in Spain with the exception of Sevillas' success in Europe
