It is a win-win for them to play reserves/youth. If they win, then their reserves/youth are better then us. If they lose, they don't really care about it anyway and are after bigger and better things. Personally, I hope they play their reserves (not because we can't take their starters) and then we destroy them something like 6-0. That is what would make me happy.

I actually think he might make the mistake of playing some kids/second choices in the first leg. Then if we win he will field their best XI in the second leg, but if he does field some kids/reserves in the first leg and we destroy them the second leg will become a formality.

He might play some kids, but he will have his bench loaded with first teamers as a plan B. I loved the way Wenger loaded up his with kids and they made zero impact on the game.

true burt, and that is the way we should prepare for them, as if it is their best team possible they are putting out. The rags are going to come out with utter shite like "reserves", "mickey mouse cup", "tin pot trophy" and "doesnt matter" as a way for them to have a get out clause WHEN WE BEAT THEM.

No. It's the nature of the man.

Mind you, he might be a little afraid of losing with a full team over 2 legs (when does the CL fit in?) having just scraped past us at the Swamp. So the plan may be to play such an inexperienced side that he has a bucket-load of excuses. Would sure piss off their fans though!

with the first leg at coms he might well play his so called kids, he can just about get away with doing that
away from home, but i doubt he would do it at home if the first leg was there with 70 odd thousand there.
and if we pummel them at opurs he could say well these young players got us in this situation, they will
have to get us out of it. also there would,nt be that many rags there for the 2nd leg at the swamp,
if they thought they had no chance of winning.

He will play his strongest possible team for both games that's a fact. My hope for the first leg is that Leeds beat Kettering, and the Whites kick them off the park in the FA Cup the Saturday before, thus giving us a slight advantage.

It will also be very interesting, as they don't consider us to be their main rivals, to see if they will sell out their stadium for the first time in the competition?

Sorry for posting this here lads, but can't find a more relevant thread. It's a football blog featuring an interview with Uwe Rosler. Legend! He says all the right things (including about us progressing in the CC, hence this thread), but I'm just hoping to see him make a success of management in this country. He deserves a chance at least.

He'll play what ever side he feels can win it for them. Don't matter because we'll stuff them in both legs anyway, fuck what he does, it's all about what we do

I rate he will play a mixture of kids and first teamers in the first leg at Eastlands and if we beat them he will play his first team in the second leg.

Would like to think we could give them a good hiding at home if he plays his kids, the Old Trafford leg will be the tricky one.

Does anyone actually think that Taggart will be as naive as Ingracious?

It would be a big about turn he would have to make to play his full first choice team. As he has already said that we are a small club, a noisy neighbour, I'm not sure he is capable of backing down.

The truth is, Taggart is in a win-win situation here. If he plays the kids at ours and we tonk them like the Arse, then he carries on the same at home without losing face. If he get's a draw or result, then he can then decide to play a few more of the first team (or bring them off the bench) in a bid for more silverware.

He has said that they will stick with the youth, but whichever way it goes, as long as we are prepared either way, I don't mind.
