atmosphere

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

atmosphere

Postby stevefromdonny » Fri Jan 20, 2023 1:21 pm

i do think that atmosphere is a 2 way thing, first of all fans need to get it going, to get the team up for it, then the players need to feed on that and get at the other team ASAP this will then get the fans singing thus players give it all, and so on, but a lack of atmosphere at the start and the players start slow, thus playing back sidewards and so on, then the fams moan at lack of forward play
i know fans and players carnt do it all the time, but if we are pulling in the same direction then it will improve the atmosphere no end

On nights last night where it’s cold as fuck and we’ve had one shot on target in two games - it’s the players that get the fans going. It’s in them (and Pep). At some point they need to give us something different from the dross sideway and backwards we had before last night.

We have become complacent at home of that there is no doubt. Id say our away support is up there with if not the best in the country. Home we are used to seeing us win and for the most part the atmosphere is shite

Day and night away and home support. This thought we need something to get us going. No chance. Pep has said what many blues know and have done for years if we are doing the honesty box. CB level 2 the noise was the cockney cunts on the front row. How can a dozen or so be in there in the first place but the just sitting there is a common theme. When it’s rocking it’s brilliant.

Never thought I’d see the day when a manager got fans to dig out other fans. Absolutely mental!

Of course we need the players to get us going to a certain extent. To think anything other than that is delusional Hazy. That early Alverez goal second half literally got our fans going - there’s the proof of you need it.

Where I sit in 105 was full of tourists yesterday, which doesn't help things. I know it was a re-arranged match so some regulars wouldn't have been able to attend, but even on normal match days the number of first time visitors has grown massively in recent years. Still, they're spending their cash with us instead of the rags nowadays, which is good. I suppose it's the price we pay to top Deloitte's footie money list.

It's the brand of possession football we play. It takes a good tackle or tracking back to get the fans going. In days gone by you'd get the likes of David White, Navas or Sane tearing down the wing and after getting past the first man you'd hear " Go on, Go on," the whole stadium in unison. A cross into the box would get ooohhhhs are aahhhhhs. The standard of football wasn't as good but excitement levels were miles higher.

Our fans were fine second half - because the Alverez goal lifted everyone.

Peps asking where was the team and fans 1st half. Seems fair to me as the performance and atmosphere was flat. I don’t see the issue Mase he was bang on.
