Pep Has To Go The End Of This Season

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Too soon to say if Pep should go.

And why let him go if there is no succession plan ready to roll out?

His decisions frustrate at times, yet those decisions also frustrated us when we won 4 in a row, treble, centurions, domestic treble...

Agree with this. We have to have a succession plan who that is I've no idea but our setup is second to none so even if we had to poach someone that should not be a problem aside from the £compensation.

We get 2 full backs and I'd be happier. Cannot see that happening in January but that would be my wish

Bizarre as fuck. Praise Cherki for thinking outside the box FFS. He ran the show today. Instead he openly says he wants to chain him.

What an absolute fucking joke from Pep !!!. We smash Sunderland 3-0, playing some proper football for once, Cherki pulls off that ridiculous rabona assist that has everyone playign pocket billiards– even gets compared to Messi – and then Pep has to go and chuck in that little dig at the end? "If he doesn't work now, it will be a problem"? Out of order you blad cunt !!!. The lad's just bossed the fucking game, set up two goals including one with a bit of magic that Pep admits even Messi never pulled off, and instead of just letting him enjoy the moment, he's already threatening him with "trouble"?
Pep's all about that control freak vibe, isn't he? Praises the flair but can't resist slapping on the "do it my way or else" warning. Cherki's young, hungry, and just delivered ffs !!!
If this is how Baldie motivates, no wonder we've had dips during this season.

What a cock !!

"Don't shoot, Vinnie, Don't shoot"

I've said it, these players play with chains on their creativity.
Football was created to entertain, not to pass the ball from side to side 100 and for you to be the main protagonist.

I am so fed up with this shit, this main character syndrome.

Cherky did a fucking beauty yesterday, and his manager's response is a dig in the media.

No player will lose one night's sleep when he's gone.

All Pep said was it's fine as long as it works out, if it doesn't he'll be in trouble.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

There is though. Imagine being a player and wanting to express yourself but you're shit scared of making a mistake. You just won't end up doing it. Cherki will get to the point that assist to Foden won't be a thing, 'just in case'.

Some players need that freedom, that's what he gave Messi

There is EVERYTHING wrong with that !! Cherki’s just produced a 'once in a generation' rabona assist in a 3-0 win, something Pep himself admits even Messi never did, and the very next sentence out of his gob is “but if he doesn’t work now he’ll be in trouble” ! and you think there is nothing wrong with that ???
Imagine being 21 years old, you’ve just had the game of your life for your new club, everyone’s buzzing, and your manager – who’s spent the last five years telling us he learnt everything from Messi – can’t even give you one full fucking day of pure praise before he’s dangling the sword again !! Thats not called motivation, thats called control !. He can’t let the kid enjoy the fucking moment without reminding him who’s the boss. We’ve seen it with Grealish and with Palmer – the second someone shows a bit of individual sparkle that isn’t 100 % in Pep’s image, the public slating starts. There’s a way to say “I love the skill but he still has to do the dirty work” without making it sound like a fucking veiled threat 30 seconds after the best moment of the lad’s City career so far.

Sorry, but Pep flips from hero to zero so many fucking times these days I’ve genuinely lost count.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Does that rule apply to normal crosses, 9/10 of which aren’t successful assists, I think what he said is ridiculous. Only a couple of weeks ago he was telling us what a talent Cherki is, he goes out and has his best game for us by far and produces a piece of magic, and is basically saying I will beat that out of you. Fuck me it’s no wonder football is in the mess it’s in.

pep’s massive ego doesn't leave room for players like cherki. ibrahimovich was another example (although ibra was a cunt tbf). If pep forces cherki out of this club - or worse, if he turns him into another back passing eunuch - im literally done with football.

Should have been said in private but I'd agree with Pep's sentiment. We all feel that Pep's style at times is too many touches but perhaps he has been trying to reign in some of our players. Nunes, Doku perhaps Cherki all have beenblosing the ball and no being too productive, feeding Haaland's frustration. The key is being consistentl very good rather than being brilliant and shite.

Not being too productive? Cherki is top assister in the league and he's hardly played

Are you on drugs?

KISS - keep it simple stupid Perhaps he could be better? Goal assist stat is overhyped by kids brought up on FIFA manager . He's had a great game let's not get carried away. Yes, i am on drugs but thats another story

Rayan Cherki described himself as a “free soul” with a duty to make fans happy after producing a moment of magic in Manchester City’s comfortable victory over Sunderland.

Yes Cherks lad. Keep doing what you're doing

'Be a free soul' and 'Doing it for the fans' - phrases i've heard before from others that thought they had great talent but then lacked consistency to make the step up to greatness.

Let's see how it goes

The fact he mention it proves it was an issue. Anything that causes Pep to bring up Messi, and publicly not privately go on about what he should be doing instead of praising what Cherki has done, shows it was an issue for Pep
