Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Silva is an amazing player, one of the best to have ever played in the premier league. Kante creates nothing kicks lumps out of a great player and is seen as the second coming, no bigger example of the agenda. City should be looking to a long term future at the club for Merlin.

We all have our favourites but objectively speaking he is the the best player we've had in my time. How he compares to Bell though?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

The Blues I know that remember Bell all say Silva is better. That's all I can tell you, mate.
I only saw Bell after his injury and he was still good.

Silva is a better player than Bell , except at shooting.

Heading, tackling, running, goal-scoring and only one-footed as compared to two. That aside, though...

I'll leave aside the bog-like pitches that he played on etc.

When I posted the poll earlier in the season I knew Silva would win based on what ppl have seen. I myself have no way to judge Bell as you can only get so much from highlights and the occasional game. It was pretty unanimous from the posters who've seen both that Bell was the better player. That bring said, success is a factor and Silva has arguably been instrumental in the most successful period in the club's history.

I think it's fair to add in what Silva has won on the world stage. It's not unfair to say that Bell didn't really produce his best for his country.
Bell was better in the air, tackling is pointless to mention because it virtually doesn't exist now. I don't think Dave has a problem with stamina even though Bell was a phenomenal athlete. But Silva has the edge on passing and his vision and imagination are remarkable. He's also bloody hard to take the ball off.
Bell was very one footed, as much as Dave is.
Its Silva for me though and I don't dismiss Colin's claims lightly.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

Someone show me a video of Bell running round in circles as he only has one foot. It doesn't exist. He may not have been Cruyff but his left was not a stump.

I am reminded of a poll carried out by the old Football Pink in the early 1970s, at a time when Colin was in his pomp and certainly the King of Maine Road.
I was surprised that Peter (the great) Doherty beat Colin in that vote. At that time there would have been many who had seen both.
Bell and Silva are different types of players. Bell was a great athlete, he could do the lot and scored regularly. He operated in almost every area of the field and on one occasion was highlighted by Jimmy Hill on MOTD, showing him clearing the ball from his own area to the wings, where the ball was moved at pace upfield, then crossed. It Was Colin Bell on the end of the cross that scored with his head.
I don't think he had the vision of Silva nor quite his magical qualities on the ball.
Bell for me, but only by the merest whisker.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

Different eras so there is no real comparison that can be made as regards the "best". Anyway, I, at least, like both apples AND oranges.
Just very disappointed with the lack of recognition that Big Dave gets from the business.

It's a lack of recognition that City gets - same problem with Aguero not being recognised and rewarded, same problem with Pellegrini not being rewarded for his first season... Not automatically a conspiracy but certainly a London bubble as far as journalism goes, and some old cunts still clinging to the idea of a Sky four.

Colin Bell was my favourite player as a kid and he was brilliant in a tough era of football. He hadn't the silkiness of Silva, but then again if Silva was playing back then, the opposition would have kicked the fuck out of him. ....... oh! Wait a minute.

Not recognized by the fans either, at least formally. Never been player of the year. If he doesn't get it this season there should be questions asked in Parliament.

Never even in the PFA top three either according to Pep.

Oh the myth .
One notices left footers because they are not the norm . We don't know why but right seems to be the norm .
the king could use both feet very well but he would naturally go right peg.
