Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

If it ends "fergie time" then I am all for it. There is no disputing a stadium clock that stops when the ball is dead, rather like in Rugby League.
The idea about a saved penalty resulting in a goal kick is silly

I've been banging on about 30 minutes on a stadium clock for ages.
Teams will still try and break up play but the strolling around the place for each throw in and substitution wouldn't impact on time played.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

If they lower match time by a third it will cut down the work load during a season for the International prem players so that would be an advantage, I bet they don't lower ticket prices by a third at the same time though. The stadium clock that stops during breaks in play is no-brainer.

Of course. Do they do things to improve the game, or do they do things to make more money?
That issue was decided long ago.

Agreed PB.
This article says that these 'ideas' have been brought forward by "stakeholders in the game".
The mind boggles as to who these might all be.

What's the thinking behind the 'ABBA' proposals for penalty shoot outs ??
Some of the ideas put forward seem to be changes just for the sake of making them, but I don't like the idea of referees being able to allow a goal when a shot has been stopped by someone's hand on or near the goal line.
Allowing further referee 'interpretation' seems a bit sinister and has a 'David Gill' smell about it.

But the winner already takes it all. Surely they can't change that?

Rugby league has been bastardized beyond intereptaion over the last decade. It's now unwatchable to me. Leave football alone.
Tracking back is overrated.
