Would be great to have him around the club if it was possible, his enthusiasm for City is brilliant.

Would LOVE LOVE LOVE him working with the Academy.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I'll never forget being on a tube going out to Loftus Road when Fulham were sharing it. Sat opposite was a really hooray henry rah rah super posh chap with his two young sons.
The conversation (in really plummy accents) went along the lines of:
So Daddy, who are we playing today.
We are playing Manchester City
Are they good Daddy? Will we beat them?
I don't know, they are playing rather well at the moment, it will be quite a tricky encounter I imagine.
Hmmm, do they have any famous players Daddy?
Well...they do have this one fellow. Shaun Goater....they call him "The Goat"
at which point I absolutely pissed my sides....I can hear his voice still. It was class. They call him the Goat indeed. I call him a fucking LEGEND

The Goat was hugely underrated imo. He was unlucky with injuries in his 1st PL season but finished it by scoring at his usual rate. Then he had to play 2nd fiddle when KK's team got there so never got a rep at the top level. He understands where to be to sniff out goals in a way that more talented players like Adebayor etc will never grasp. He's also proof of how it's possible for a player to improve as a team footballer by using more intelligence & workrate.
If he could somehow pass that attitude/instinct to just 5% of the raw talented young strikers who will come through our Academy it could make the difference between those players being worth £1M or £50M.

Shaun Goater has eyes on making a return to his beloved City.
The fans favourite flew in from his native Bermuda to watch Tuesday night’s Carling Cup derby semi-final, and revealed that once he has his coaching badges his dream would be return to the club he graced for five years.
The Goat still keeps a keen eye on the Blues from afar and sends in his prgramme notes for all our home games, but once through his A-Licence qualification he is dreaming of helping out here once again in the future.
“I miss the game, so I’ve got to start and get myself back in somewhere at youth level. We’re talking a few years down the line, but I want to get the licence and myself involved again.
“I still keep myself involved in and around the club, my heart’s still City. It’s just great to be involved at the club at whatever level.”
